Scott Morrison said to say Ni Hao

    • +5

Ni Hao is Mandarin, the majority of the people in Hong Kong speak Cantonese, so saying "Nei Ho" would earn you more affection.

        Ni Hao is Mandarin

He said it to a Korean

When she told him that, he should have replied "Sorry, Konnichi wa!".

          • @bargaino: That would've gone down well…

        • Korean

          Did you call?

          • @tempura: User name doesn't check out.

            • @jv: ah $h1t

              • @tempura: Maybe change it to bulgogi

                • @jv: Then I'll miss out when Jap is called upon; i'll stick with this.

      • +3

You missed when he said Ni Hao to the Korean Lady then? 🤦🏼‍♂️

        • When I meet Bill Shorten next week, I'm going to say to him "Alles hat ein Ende, nur die Wurst hat zwei"

          • @jv: and Kevin Rudd (with/without a sauce bottle))

          • @jv: jv, you are the wurst.

          • @jv: Just dont say "All are Akber" for the love of God !

I wouldn’t buy mirabella brand again. I already had four bulbs blown in two years period.

    • -7

Sh*tty brand, one just literally exploded in front of me!

I think they are reducing price since bulbs are coming in Aldi next week :-)

    • This is my experience with mirabella brand going back nearly 40 years. They blow way to fast.

  • My local woolies also had some LED globes on Clearance for ~$2.5, not sure on saving or brand but plenty of stock!

  • Are these as good as the Philips in Coles/Woolworths?

    • +4

      No

Don’t waste your money on these Mirabella junks. They hardly last 6 months.

    • +1

But come with 12 months warranty 😀

Do you keep your receipts from a Supermarket for that long?

        • +5

I use my mobile telephone to photograph all receipts over $20.00

Ikea LED bulbs for the win. 👍🏻

    • Yep, love my IKEA bulbs too.

  • IKEA bulbs better.

  • Greetings from Hong Kong(files.ozbargain.com.au)

In Australia, we're not allowed to shine our laser pointers into the air because it'll cause planes to crash. In Hong Kong, there are lasers shooting into the sky from every building?

    • In Australia, we're not allowed to shine our laser pointers into the air

      Of course you can…

    • ironically, just after they introduced the law, one of the first complaints (investigations) about someone pointing lasers at a plane turned out to be Westfield Parramatta IIRC.

Also, in HK not many buildings do it, except at 7pm around near Victoria Harbour.

  • Similar globes like this are free under the new Victorian energy efficiency scheme 21a, we can now replace all incandescent, halogen and cfl (curly) bayonet and Edison screw globes for free. 3000k & 4000k Just wait for a local door knocker to come soon. They have just started doing towns in Victoria.

    • Simalar as in they are both LED. That program now has certified products above 140 lm/w. These are about 85 lm/w.

  • I'm looking forward to when the major outlets start stocking bulbs with better than 100lm/W for good prices.
In WA these are hard to find.

  • My straight Fluorescent 18w 0.15A screw type globe for the ceiling just died and the guy at Bunnings said these straight types are now obsolete and are replaced by LEDs.

Does that mean I can use with any LED screw type around the same wattage?

  • I've had a good experience with the LED filament globes (2W E14 and 4W ES & B22). Colour rendition is decent and no flickering. All working, the oldest one for several years for maybe 5 hours a day on average.
