    why not just write $345.95?

note - this is the "Optus" version not the "Telstra" version e.g. no 3G 850

Meh, I prefer my HTC Inspire 4G (Telstra) which was $399 from the states from AT&T..

    • 4g.. why?

      • +2

It's technically not 4g, it's just HSPA+ really.. "4G like" speeds.. great phone and awesome price!

      but that's 850/1900 3g

      And it's not actually a "4G" phone, just a fast 3g one.

      • That's what's called mate. I didn't say it was true 4G did I?

        • When telstra roll out their hspa+ network you can whine at them when they call it 4g too ok? :-)

        • +1

BTW Telstra has HSPA+ already even HSPA+ DC and roll out LTE which is true 4G end of this year. So i guess you could call it 4G later on

Seems I was thinking of HSDPA+, not HSPA+.. I'm currently using HSDPA atm, but there's no HSDPA+ that I know, which is what they're calling 3.5g or AT&Ts "4G"..

Either way, it's much better than anything else I've used mobile phone wise, and for $399 it's a steal imo. :)

        • Actually, isn't it the case that none of the current technology we have can be called 4G yet because the standard by itself hasn't been officially announced yet?

        • +2

LTE Advanced is true 4G, apparently.. And is due for release in 2012. Standard LTE is not 4G either though. It's all so confusing!

To answer your question, there's no networks available which meet the 4G standards yet so there's technically no 4G networks at all! LOL! According my limited research. :P

It's a good price for the Desire, but it's old stock and should have done this a couple of months ago and I would have considered it.

Now got my HTC Incredible S and very happy with my new snazzy device :)

  • what's up with the high shipping charge ~ $24 to SYD

    • +1

Being DHL listed in the ad, I would say this is a drop shipper deal.
