Got this email on my old account, so it might work with existing (non-renewed) accounts, but essentially aimed at new customers.

    Nice first post ;)

For those keen, there is now a decent Kodi add-on available for Kayo with full EPG - details here:

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/2788029

…and the Android TV apk at link below for those with unsupported boxes like the Vodafone TV:

    • Adding to Kirt's post. You can also stream Kayo to your big screen via Chromecast. Works from Android and iPhone/iPad.

I do this when watching AFL footy at home.

is it easy enough to cancel after 1 month?

    • +4

Very. You can cancel straight away and continue to use it until the month is up.

    • +1

yes, I am currently signing up for free trials every 2 weeks, and cancelling them.
just do it via the website, cancel anytime, and keep using until the end of trial/month

      • How do you do this? Whenever I try it tells me the email or mobile has been used previously.

        • -1

With a new email and new phone number

          • @freoleo: But don't they send a code to the new number?

            • @RangaWal: Yes they do, dunno why I was downvoted, its the truth

  • Does this stack with the free trial?

  • Thanks - works… just make sure when you hit the main page you use the code rather than registering first

Can anyone who is on the 2 months for $5 Telstra kayo deal check what their renewal once it's expired is, I have checked mine and it says $5 monthly with $35 for premium. I was going to cancel but if it rolls over for $5 I'll stick with it but not at $25 as I don't use it enough.

    • +1

Same here, i will wait and see how much i get charged

      • Dodgy and rip off; they charged me $25 as well after using the code supplied by Telstra although the shopping cart showed $2.5 per month!!
Pathetic customer care ; refused to refund.

      • Hey did you manage to get another month for $5, or did it change back to the normal $25?

    • When's your renewal due? We might not beat you to it.

Be careful while registering with KAYO … They are dodgy. Charged me $25 instead of $5. Called them but refused to refund.

OP .. nothing against you. But people should know the problem with the service provider.

    • +1

      I'll second that
i have a very similar issue happen to me
Their customer service is a disgrace

    • +2

It clearly says you have to use the same details as your Telstra account when you register for 2 months for $5. If not you will be charged the full amount.. Which it also says.

    • There is a worrying trend of businesses like Sinemia and Kayo ignoring basic principles and contracts and abusing credit card details.

    • +1

spot on. Their customer service is a 'customer never right' policy. I was also charged $25 instead of $5 and they refused to refund.

    • Likewise. Got the deal for $5, but they charged me $25.

  • Just checked my account and only charged $5 but it does also they have charged me $1 for some reason…

    • +2

Probably a temporary hold to verify the card, it will probably just drop off your statement after a few days

  • +1

They also charged $25 to my credit card fraudently although I used Telstra code . The shopping cart screener showed, $ 2.5 per month but to my horror my credit card was charged $25. Emailed customer care but flatly refused the refund.
I raised dispute through my credit card company , kayo didn't bother responding to them as well.
Very pathetic customer care and dodgy .

    • +1

Are you a Telstra customer? A few people that have been charged the full price are not Telstra customers, as required per the T&Cs. If you are a Telstra customer and therefore eligible to use the code that's frustrating, surprised they ignored the credit card dispute!

  • I have had Kayo for a month now and been having streaming issues. I tend to chromecast it to tv and on average it crashes about a handful of times per afl/nrl game. I have nbn n I get decent speed. nba league pass is the best as it rarely drops out: even Optus sports is better than kayo in terms of stability.

I was with ABB 50/20 and kayo was usable but would buffer and stutter a few times a game so I switched to MateComunicate 100/40 and kayo was terrible so I switched back to ABB. I've found the most reliable way to watch kayo is through my Optus dongle with a Kogan sim, strange thing is I only get about 6MB download speed through them so I'm guessing certain providers have a more stable connection to the Kayo servers. What I'm thinking is to load up on Kogan 40gb sims and use those to stream kayo and use the new numbers for Kayo signups.

  • Thanks OP. Worked.
