    Link now shows sufficient quantity.

    Lol.

      So funny

      • -1

Yeah, they just like to unpublished deals rather than editing it.

        Unpublish nazis.

  • good price

  • Code not working

    • Yeah. I get "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."
The code PSYCHED works for me for 10% off, so it doesn't seem to be a browser or PC problem.

      • Code now works. Must have been a time delay.

    But LG…

  • +4

I have this phone and I love it, but don't expect to get any updates. Last one they released was back in September 2018.

    • +1

but don't expect to get any updates.

The G7 will definitely get the update soon, 100%. Maybe a little slower than current generation flagship phones, but it'll get the update.

      • +1

It will get the update by the time the G10 comes out lol

      • My Wife's S8 got the update months ago. That phone is 12 months older than the G7

    • +1

      LG the new Sony Mobile?

      • +1

        LG, Sony and HTC.

    • +5

Same here. Have had G7 for a month. Very happy, not fussed about updates. The OS works great as is.
Reviews should be taken with a grain of salt.
Dual sim is useful if you live/work between city and regional. Signal strong for both sims. (FYI optus and telstra).
DAC headphone audio is a thing of wonder. Drives audio technica ATH-R70x with 470 ohms with ease - can't go past 75% volume, it is too loud..
Screen excellent. Microphone picks up voice for hands free from a distance without the party on the other end of the call hardly aware.
Resonating boom box speaker is surprisingly loud and good quality for a single bottom firing unit.
Reviews should be taken with a grain of salt; I have had an iphone 8 and a sony xperia xz premium. The LG G7 is better than both for my needs. I don't comment on phones I don't own. Speculation is no substitute for real experience

Got one of these recently and have to say, pleasantly surprized. Nice build quality, solid panel for an lcd, great speaker, solid cameras, wireless fast charging etc. Just waiting on Android 9 as mentioned but hopefully not too much longer as its first on the list apparently.

Local seller, local stock not grey import.

So 24 mth local warranty with LG hopefully??

  • +12

Seems like a good deal but need to Thinq.

    • -4

LG need to do some serious thinqing. The only way they will learn is when the press caution people in the reviews of the new G8 to avoid due to lack of updates, and as a consequence poor sales. Then they will probably come up with the Software Update Center 2 which will push out one update for one phone and then disappear again.

      • +1

for the no updates, no deal!

        • +2

My LG G5 first rolled out with Android 6 Marshmellow, it's had all the updates and now running Oreo. Don't listen to rubbish.

          • -4

@Ughhh: And u think Oreo is up to date? Lol

            • +2

@Sammyboy: Do you have an idea what generation the LG G5 is? Do you expect your Nokia 3310 to be up to date too, LOL

              • +1

@Ughhh: I have a G4, G5 and G6 and V20. My used LG stack is getting too high. Personally I do believe the G5 camera was much better than the G6. However with the lack of updates and resorting to finding firmware from other regions which may have had incremental updates, I've had it with LG. It's more about updates plugging up security holes leaving these devices possibly compromised. Luckily Google has modulised the updates via their various app updates which is better than nothing, but still a slight risk there in my opinion. PS I was always a fan of the Ericsson over the Nokia. T28 was an awesome little phone :)

                • @Sammyboy: So did you only get "one update and then disappear"? Me and other people must've gotten a very special version of the G5 then…

I would rather not be the guinea pigs to test the new updates and ending up with a buggy OS. Updates to last 2 generations is decent, the G5 is more than 2 generations old now. Even my Google Nexus 4 phone had 2 generations worth of updates. To expect a phone to have updates forever is just silly.

                  • +4

@Ughhh: I never expect updates indefinitely. But why get defensive over a brand that clearly doesn't care about updates. You can't deny that LG now has the worse reputation for delivering updates. G5 got Oreo 13mths after it was released. The only G7 to get an update so far is the G7 one sold by Google. Anyway I've long switched brands and would rather have a secure phone with timely security and firmware updates.

            • +2

@Sammyboy: If your priority is getting the maximum number of updates ASAP, then iPhones would be your best bet as iPhone 5S was released in 2013 and runs iOS 12. The Android alternative to consider might be Pixel. But other people may have different priorities and getting maximum number of updates quickly may or may not be their top priority as they may be looking for value for money. Remember there is a significant price difference between LG phones powered by a Snapdragon 845 and other brands.

  • Is this a new store?

    • Theres too few reviews but damn that is a smokey price for the G7!

  • +1

Great price. I love this phone so far. 2 annoying things are auto brightness is rather dark and can’t see screen in landscape properly when wearing polarised sunglasses.

    • Thanks for pointing out the polarisation issue. Deal-breaker for me.

    • The polarisation in landscape issue occurs on my LG Q6 too, but my G6 does not have this issue.

  • This or the Pocophone?

I'm in need of a new phone, my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x is having issues and very tempted with the Pocophone. Main issue with the LG is the lack of updates from reviews, my last LG was the G2 which had next to no updates and was quickly out dated.

    • I'm not sure the Pocophone will get many updates. If needing updates is your thing (and I don't get why some people are so hung up about it) then you'll need to look for a manufacturer that does ongoing support… which'll cost you the extra.

      • +1

Or just install LineageOS on the Pocophone and have monthly updates. It's superior to the default MIUI anyway, so there's no reason not to.

  • +1

This phone has 4gb Ram and 64gb storage in case anyone is wondering. Didn't see specs in deal posting.

  • +4

I love my LG G6, however there are two main issues with LG handsets: 1) delayed software updates and 2) there is only one authorised repairer for LG Phones in Australia. You have to post the handset to Sydney and wait 1 to 2 weeks for it to be returned. Had to buy a temporary handset and waste a few hours transferring settings between the two, each way (not all settings are carried across by LG Bridge Backup / Mobile Switch software).

  • +3

I would like to offer a different opinion on updates.
    I hate them.
every single time I have updated my android phone to a new version of android, it has been a disaster

By far the worst was a sony z5 update that doubled the size of android and ended up having every system process running twice! You would not think that was possible. The update was eventually halted, after I lost weeks of my life to the issue.

With other similar updates over the years I have always lost features, lost battery life, lost stability. Not once did I get anything new that was useful.

Phones with updates available generally bug the hell out of you to update, and eventually you give in, every time I gave in, regrets.

Maybe an LG is my next phone, I am sure whatever version of android it ships with when new is stable and tested. The only compelling reason to upgrade would be if an app I rely on is no longer supported. Are there any apps around that for example, dont work on Android 7? A quick google suggests everything works on Android 5 jellybean, with ice cream sandwich support ending in December 2018.

  • Is the galaxy s9 worth the $150+? Any comments on battery life or quality of load speaker compared to the s9?

    • +1

Absolutely. I had a S8 and had bought G7 thinking it would be an upgrade. But I was disappointed. The screen looks dull, the camera is crappy specially in the low light, the skin on Android feels very poor comparing to Samsung and not to mention the slow updates.

  • I assume that this is a grey import?

    • says AU stock though

  • -5

    This or Sharp S3 Aquos

  • +1

Been rocking a G7 since May last year and everything about it except the pretty mediocre battery is great. Especially love the Quad DAC. Disappointed the G8 isn't coming to Australia (and is expensive to import).

  • store rep confirmed this is local Aus stock with 2 year warranty.
