  • Does the Asus one also come with the free game bundle?

Also, considering RX580 is only roughly 10%-15% faster than RX570 cards, do you think RX570 card has better value? I'm comparing these 2 at the moment.

    • Yes is an AMD promotion; not MSI. Applies to all RX580s (and some other AMD lines)

RX580 for sure! What’s the cost of the RX570 you are looking at?

      • from the same store CA, Asus RX570 4G is A$ 191 after 20% off.

You're right, rx570 has better value than rx580, but I think rx580 is the baseline to meet the requirement of 60FPS@1080p gaming.

Suggest you check out some comparison reviews on youtube and you could how close they are. The only concern I have for RX570 is the 4G VRAM.

the PSU in my current system is just 500W (with 8pin though), don't know if it'll be sufficient to serve RX580.

        • Seems very unlikely. A RX 580 draws about 350W under heavy load. That leaves 150W for everything else. I recommend a 650W PSU. Or choose 750W if you plan to overclock.

  • RX 580 at $263 or GTX 1660 at $315? CPU is 2600x

  • -3

I feel like the RX580 is gonna leave you wanting more fairly soon. I own one myself and while it is still doing fine right now it seems like graphics horsepower has just taken a big jump with the 1660 being the new mid range king.

      not sure if /s

  • Tempting but I don't have any reason to upgrade. My overclocked AMD HD 7950 is still running surprisingly well (60+ FPS with close to ultra settings) when gaming (StarCraft II, Two Point Hospital, Diablo III, Batman Arkham series, etc) at 1080p.

    • Nice games, they are awesome, but not so recent (except for two point hospital).

Anything coming out you are looking forward to?

1660 price above looks tempting. Well done on milking the 7950 till the end though. I thought I was doing well with my gtx970 until last christmas.

      • GTX 970 looks quite impressive. The FPS are close to a RX 570. What happened to it?

Total War: Warhammer 2 is on my list this year, which is not new either. But it is quite demanding on a system. I will install it this weekend and see how my card handles it.

        • It has found a new life in a box I donated to grandma. I stuck the 970 in there in case I need to stay for hours at a time and want to do some gaming. Hasn't happened yet, I usually end up just browsing my phone for GPUs I don't need on ozbargain. Life is strange.

Total Warhammer 2 is so amazing. I love it. But yeah I imagine you'll be on low or medium settings at 1080p. Might not matter though, as you spend most of the game zoomed out anyways.

  • If anyone gets one of these make sure to set a custom fan curve through Radeon WattMan or MSI Afterburner otherwise you'll be listening to a jet engine while gaming :D

    • Can confirm.
I undervolted mine quite a bit, which helped immensely.

Also the plastic on the fans is not great, had one of the fins snap.
Replaced with 2x 120 case fans and zipties.
Which i highly recommend. Much cooler, much quieter

      • When you undervolt, did you underclock too? Any affects to performance or stability?
