Seems like a decent deal. $299 on Optus page. Maybe can 5% discount if pricematch at Officeworks and they have stock?

      If you want to unlock it, there's no fee after you've recharged your service to a minimum of $80. Otherwise, you'll pay $80 to unlock the AX7 if you've been with Optus less than six months, or $25 thereafter.

    Interesting that thin bezels, waterproofing (is that what waterdrop means?), decent specced cameras and high res screens have become the norm for $229 phones. I guess the main differentiation is the processor, but you need to be a bit of a techie to understand if a “Qualcomm octo-core processor” is going to be good enough for your usage.

      Waterdrop is the name of the notch FYI. If you want any water resistance assurance look for IP 53, IP65 or IP67.
