    I just bought the Universal Remote app, then installed the PC side server and could not get them to connect together. I tried all sorts of troubleshooting. Eventually I uninstalled the app (planning to reinstall) and Google instantly refunded my account. So I guess I won't re-buy it now, unless someone has some advice.

      Did you open the windows firewall. I assume you have to do this

        Yeah that was one of the server installation settings. I probably would have persisted with it if I had more PC knowledge, but it certainly wasn't as easy as the video tutorial made it sound, and the surprise insta-refund gave me an easy out. Haha.

        (Basically it's an app I don't really need so I gave up.)

          I'm surprised you had such issues, I've been using it for a few years across many computers and network configurations, both Linux and Windows and never had any problems at all.

          Seems like you were just unlucky. Maybe your AV was interfering?

    Unified remote is a steal at that price, such a useful app. I mainly use it to control my PC from other rooms on my phone.
