  • V6 deals keep popping up…
They must be trying get rid of these units

    • +1

ebay deals popping up making it cheaper.

  • Ya almost bought it yesterday…but the 20min run time just doesn’t do it…waiting for a V7 deal…hopefully some deals pop up towards eofy…

    • bought a v7 on last myer deal, $359, could not be happier, much easier to empty bin - no dirty on hand anymore and with hepa filter.

  • Does this come with a wall mount of some sort that also charges? Or do you have to always plug it in?

  • +1

There are 2 models.. this one and the one with the yellow top.. whats the diff?

    • Yellow top has a narrower (slim) head - doesn't seem to be other differences.
Also doesn't come with the complete cleaning kit

  • Bought on Sat for $270 on ebay and price dropped again :(

    • Same, I have written to the store about this. Leta see what do they come back with.

      • i can't imagine many people write letters these days!

    • Ordered last night. Reminds me of when there was a price drop on JBL Flip 4 to $100. I rushed out and bought one, the very next day there was a deal bringing it down to $80.

      • Don't fret. I got two of the $80 deal but then the order was cancelled next day.

  • Is this the same as a v6 animal?

    • +1

      "animal" just has more accessories.

  • +1

Can you use these without the tube as a handy vac?

    • +2

      Yes

  • +1

So is the suction any good for this vacuum? Have not owned a Dyson before and therefore looking to buy my first one but can't justify the $1000 for the V11.

    • +1

I bought the V6 Fluffy (for hard floors) from one of the eBay deals early last year. Absolutely love it, plenty of suction and the accessories are great for doing car mats, tight spaces etc.

Only downside is it's no good on the few rugs we have but the one in this deal will obviously be fine.

    • Corded one outdoes it for obvious reasons but as per comment above. They are great for day to day quick vacuums. Runs about 15 mins, so if you got a big house you may want reconsider or get the later models.

      • +1

Think at this price it’s possible to grab two.

        • Lol. Good thinking.

  • Can anyone comment on this vs the Xiaomi Dreame listed in this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455244 ? Anyone had experience with the two brands?

    • +4

I have owned a v6 and now own a derame. While the v6 is a good vacuum i believe the dreame is all round better. Much better suction however if it is just for a tiles/wood flooring then the difference between the two would be negligible. Hope that helps!

      • Thanks that is very helpful!

Bought this for the office. Not very good, poor suction and low run time, might as well buy kmart one.
Have V8 at home, that one does the job.

If you have floorboards highly recommend the floorboard head that comes with the V8.

    • well when it first came out, it would have been pretty good.
Yes we are comparing it now with better models and of course they will make better models and then we say this was isn't the best

    • How much is a v8?

      • +1

V8 was heavily discounted yesterday on catch but didn’t last long.

  • Has anyone tried the replacement batteries for the V6?

    • +1

I ordered one off ebay last week. 3500maH hopefully gets mine running again and run time is longer.

      • If you can be bothered, please share your experience when you've given it a run :D

  • Now is this compared to Dyson V7, V8, V9, V10 and V11?

    • +1

V6 run time is only 20 mins on 'normal' suction, and the touch free dust bin emptying isn't touch free if there is hair. There isn't much space between the bin wall and the internal part so you have to stick your fingers or something thin like a screw driver/chop stick in there to get it all out. Other models seem to have a larger gap so this shouldn't happen.

      • spot on. I always end up looking for twigs in the yard just to get all the dust out.

      • +1

The bin is my biggest disappointment with the V6. I often find it easier to release the bin housing to clean it out. Just press down on the bin release a second time after opening the bottom. I always found the run time find even on high - perhaps that is because of having children the don’t like me vaccuming for more than a few mins at a time so doing a little bit at a time works for me - having the vacuum stored in the cradle for charging and easily able to Ben pulled out whenever you need it is the key difference to a corded vacuum - when it only takes a second to pull out you don’t feel the need to vacuum the whole house to make it worthwhile whereas getting he corded vacuum out of a cupboard, plugging it it and getting going takes so much longer.

I need a new battery now though. Which one did you end up getting?

  • Just got the Xiaomi Dreame. Love it. Very happy with purchase, happy to AMA

    • +2

Would be interested for a follow up in about a years time :D haha

      • Hindsight is a beautiful thing :)

      • Can't be much more unreliable than Dysons 😉

        • I dunno why I thought Dysons had a lifetime suction guarantee, was that a thing? Because I can't find anything about it now but I felt like that was what drew me to buy a $700 vacuum 4 years ago :/

    • I got the Dreame too but only used it a little. It's not that easy to get the roller completely flat so will be hard to vacuum underneath some furniture.

  • To many discounts maybe might see amazon match or beat this??

  • I'm a bit confused. Does this package which includes the Complete Cleaning Kit essentially make this into a Dyson V6 Animal? I have a white cat AND carpet so I'm hoping this is good for sucking up cat hair. Any ideas out there? And my bro doesn't use carpet attachments that came with his V6 absolut. Will they work for what im wanting? ie cat hair+carpet

    • I'm not sure what comes with the Animal. This will suck up cat hair really well. All your brother's attachments will work with this.

  • This item is out of stock.

  • Damn, just missed out

  • Purchased with the eBay 10% WW Rewards Points offer:

    • $100.0 eBay Gift Card x 2 = 4000 Points ($20 return)
