Does this have QC 3.0 like Kogan's?

    • +1

ZMI website says only 2.0 supported. I think this is more aimed at PD devices like Pixels

      • +1

I understand that, though I have been using Kogan's one and it has both. Fast charging both my Pixel 2 and Poco F1.

I also believe PD 3.0 can supports QC 3.0 too? The Baseus car charger is advertised as such but for some reason doesn't fast charge the Poco F1 via USB-C port (advertised as PD/QC 3.0 on the USB-C port).

        • Had a look at the Kogan one, looks pretty good for the price, 50% extra capacity at 50% extra weight.

QC3.0 and PD have the same power output but are not compatible with each other, QC4.0 is basically 3.0 with PD compatibility. I think your F1 is actually 4.0 compatible but theres not many other devices/accessories for it yet.

          • @ls123: Yeah the F1 is 4.0 compatible so it will work with USB-PD

Looking for a good portable powerbank to supplement my 27k Cygnett. This looks like a worthy contender!

    Nice find OP. Thanks.

Tempted to grab one, to go with my ZMI QB820. But I’d prefer a deal on the Tronsmart Trim, which is 1.2cm thick (vs 1.6cm for the ZMI), just for the extra slimness for ultra portability!

The ZMI certainly looks slick though! Much nicer aesthetically, in my opinion!

    • have a look the photo i have linked below how slim and portale they are compared to the normal popular slim xiaomi powerbank

      • Yes, but that is the ZMI vs the Xiaomi. I am comparing ZMI to Tronsmart…the Tronsmart is much slimmer (1.6cm vs 1.2cm).

(Not dissing the ZMI, it looks like a great charger! Just saying that I personally would prefer the slimmer Tronsmart)

        • fair enough :)

        • This one does have the USB hub function vs the tronsmart though, if that’s worth 4mm to you.

Good for charging the Nintendo switch?

    • +3

Yep, this will charge the Switch at max rate (will supply 18W). Just can’t power the dock - need 15V/2.6A PD for that (QB820 can power the dock, if you have a need for that niche use case!).

  • have a look at the size comparision with the popular xiami powerbank here, these are really great in size and yet powerful.

  • I like this deal more (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457355) but my Surface Go need an usb hub. Hmmmmm.

  • will this charge a MacBook?

    • better off with the 20K - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457355

      • Will it charge though? I like the slim form factor and would only use it to charge mac in an emergency situation.

        • +1

It will charge as if you’re using the iPhone fast charger (18W) but definitely will charge. I’ve used a normal Powerbank with a USB-A to USB-C cable and ‘charged’ the MacBook at 5W. More likely you’ll just be slowing the rate of discharge than actually charging it, but I’m sure that’s helpfully an emergency.

          • @TimeWaster: Similar experience here - I left my charger at work once, and was still able to use my Macbook Pro running off a usb phone charger (using the USB-A to USB-C cable from my GoPro!). The macbook battery's discharge rate slowed to a trickle during moderate use, and then it slowly recharged in sleep mode overnight.

          • @TimeWaster: This was the answer I was looking for. Thanks!!!

  • Cheers OP! Been looking for a small, sleek PD powerbank!

Looks great! Do you charge the power bank through USB C? Looking to just take 1 cable with me when I travel!

    • +1

      Yep! USB - C input.

  • +1

How does it compare to the tronsmart trim?
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Tronsmart-Trim-PBD01-PD-3-0-…

    • +2

Slightly thicker + USB Hub functionality.

  • Would this charge oculus quest?

  • Will this fast charge a Samsung Note8?

    • +1

Yes for the QB910 as well as the Tronsmart.

  • Will this charge an iPhone XS Max quickly? I have the Apple 29W wall adapter which charges it very quickly, looking for something equally as fast for when I’m travelling.

Edit: never mind, just saw 18W

    • +4

The iPhone charges at a capped 18W so you'd get basically the same amount of time.

  • Good for the oculus quest?

    • Should be fine I guess as oculus quest’s standard factory power adapter only uses 15w

  • +3

Well,OzB got me again, ordered… I have to say the USB hub feature really sealed the deal (didn't know that was a thing on USB chargers)

  • Expired $49.99 now

  • Got mine a few days ago. Nice and compact and light with a classy look and feel.

Can slowly charge a usb c laptop for me. Probably best to keep this in soft case as the edges look like aluminium but are plastic.

Overall really happy but yet to try the hub feature.
