        Version 2 also has map saving and digital barrier/zone control. I could find that feature on a Version 1 that I have

              @LongJohn92: You do not need to change to china server. Make sure update your firmware, and then zoned clean function should be on the bottom right of main screen

    Works very well - we've got a golden retriever and it's a lifesaver. Haven't used the mopping function on it as I'm told it's essentially dragging a damp cloth across the floor. Recommend.

    This has dropped in price because the S6 has just been announced and released.

    The S50 is an amazing machine, and the S6 is an incremental improvement on it.

    I think this is one of those times where if you can get the S50 on clearance/runout you are going to be doing well, given the inevitable price difference between the two. To me the main notable difference in the s6 is the ability to recognise individual rooms – ie with a single tap in the app (or on a schedule) you can get it to clean the kitchen, rather than needing to drag a custom area. It also has a better algorithm and slightly better climbing ability.

          No S50 users are being dropped like a hot potato. They did say the S50 was going to be updated with the S6 features like room management etc but later reneged on the deal.

          This has left thousands of users pretty upset, so dont expect much in the way of development or fixes for the S50 going forward.

      Copied from another forum, here is an example of Ikea rug specifications that the S50 will and won't climb up on.

      Rug #1

      Length: 240 cm
      Width: 170 cm
      Thickness: 18 mm
      Area: 4.08 m²
      Surface density: 2900 g/m²
      Pile coverage: 1500 g/m²
      Pile thickness: 14 mm
      Pile length: 17 mm

      Rug #2

      Length: 240 cm
      Width: 170 cm
      Thickness: 18 mm
      Area: 4.08 m²
      Surface density: 3300 g/m²
      Pile coverage: 1650 g/m²
      Pile thickness: 14 mm
      Max. pile length: 23 mm

      The vacuum consistently gets up onto rug #1 but not rug #2. So really high pile rugs are a no, but medium pile and below are fine as per above specifications.

      If you have high pile rugs, I believe the S6 has slightly better climbing ability which just might make it able to climb onto them.

          I bought a roll on eBay for like 10 bucks. It's pretty thin. I just use it Infront of the door to the bathroom as I don't want it going in there sucking up water. Not sure about carpet. Can't imagine it being an issue.
