Stacks nicely with cashback. Not as cheap as previous deals if you're looking to also get a knife sharpener, but cheapest I've found for the set itself.

From website:

The set includes a 14cm vegetable knife, 8cm paring knife, 13cm cook's knife, 11cm utility knife, 20cm cook's knife, 22cm breadknife and a bamboo block. The Global Ikasu Knife Block also features handles that are made of hollow stainless steel to perfect the balance of the blades, and are easy to clean for your convenience.

  • What other knife block sets can be recommended? I always hear these having rust issues.

Mine have rust issues because my housemates leave them to dry in a wet place - wipe them dry and there will be no problems.

I believe the problem is due to letting the knives drip dry. They must be wiped dry after washing them. And don't use a dishwasher.

If they do rust, its only surface rust. A very fine abrasive like Magic Eraser should clean them up perfectly.

    • My gf has a set of these and there are a few little rust spots in the handles but we (I?) don't look after them by putting them in the dishwasher and not drying them. She has had them for about 10 years though. I did think it was weak that one blade broke in half when I tried to crush a garlic clove with it. Hence why I'm looking at this set….she wasn't very happy with me!

      • I've had a blade brake from crushing garlic too, different brand of knife but equally expensive.

I think these knives are just hardened in a way that just can't handle lateral force like that.

I've been using mine for 10 years, there's no sign of rust. They're stainless steel so I wouldn't expect that kind of issue.

Had mine for 7 yrs now and no signs of rust either. If you take care of them I doubt these will ever have any issues.

  • the link is not working, looks like they have taken it off online.
