Good deal for those looking for an external hard drive who got the Amazon $30 voucher from the 10TB My Book cancellation (like me). Brings it down to $169 which makes it $28 per TB.

Also this is local stock so no issues with the power supply.

But is it a good deal if you don't have the voucher?
    Not everyone has a voucher….

I'm still waiting for my 10TB drive to arrive…
    ….. Oh, yeah… It's not gonna be coming…. EVER! 😭

On Amazon AU the WD Elements Desktop Hard Drive 6TB with the American power supply is $177.53 minus the $30.00 voucher is $147.53.
You would need to purchase a plug pin adapter.

    • would it be possible to use plug from another HDDs?

      • I did that with a Seagate drive I got from Amazon US and it's been working perfectly for over a year, so it should work.

my $130 10tb was honoured… shipped… how many got cancelled I wonder, maybe I'm lucky.. I did buy the previous 10tb deal too…in saying that I saw the deal almost as it was posted here on OZB, actually bought it befoer I saw it on OZB, noticed it on AMZ looking at the 8tb posted…… some deals are best kept quiet :P

I ordered within 30mins the deal went up and it got cancelled :(

      • yeh that sucks… strange attitude they seem to hold…

  • Thanks Op. went to look at item , noticed the cheaper price of $177 shipped with prime. Less $60 gift cards and cash rewards makes it about $111. Not as good as the 10tb deal but am happy to get this.

    • Yeah I noticed that too but it takes longer to get here and I can’t be bothered using an adapter with the power supply ;)

  • $30 voucher is still money, you can buy anything you want. If you count it as free money, it's flawed calculation.

A thread about Hard Drives will never exist without the mention of those 10TB drives lol
