    Rather pay $300 outright than rely on getting a cashback to get to $297

  • nice, applied $60 credit from the recent WD debacle … super..

    • Is the credit from WD classified as Gift Card?

      Looking from Shopback website

      -Items added to cart before clicking through ShopBack
      -Taxes and delivery charges

        You need to order two hard drives with an incorrect price.

  • Are these better than the Sony’s?

    • I find it more comfortable by a little bit. I also prefer the button control than the touch sensitive control.

      But rtings said the Sony do noise cancelling better.

      • +5

        I still can't believe most people don't connect their BT headphones to more than one device at a time. It rules the Sony's out entirely. For headphones of this price I would expect it as Bose has had it for the last 6 years.

        • This is the only reason I still use my 1st gen QC35.

  • +6

    Before the debate between Bose and Sony begins, please check previous deals on both the Bose QC 35 and the Sony WH-1000XM3 for paragraphs and paragraphs of information supporting both.

    Essentially, both are good headphones, it just comes down to your personal preferences.

      How about the Sennheiser PXC550 Wireless

  • anyone successfully managed to price match at JB for a Amazon special price like this? I have a JB gift Card to use…

    • Yea i know one of my friends price matched it at JB with amazons price a few months back.

    • I think it depends on the store you go to and who you speak to. Last year during Black Friday I was able to price match their PS4 deal. But then earlier this year at the same store I was told they cannot match an online retailer.

      • +1

        Called my local JB (Robina QLD) and asked over the phone if they would price match the prime special.. got it for $335.35 at JB, allowing me to use my gift card. :-)

  • Cash Rewards has 10% too. Can I stack Shopback & Cash Rewards?

    • Pretty sure your last click leading to the Amazon page need to be either from Cashrewards or Shopback.
      So short answer, no.

    • just beware, i had issues with cashrewards for most of my amazon.com.au purchases. I am not sure about Shopback.

  • This is good news! Now I've gotta find some QC25's
    Hopefully some sales pop up soon!

  • just wondering, can I activate shopback and cashrewards and get both cashback?

    • i don't think so.

    • How do you click through both?

      • What do you mean? Activate one and then activate the other one? They are just cookies, you don't have to stay in the same page.

    • No you can't as the sale is verified by the seller. One or the other.

  • Is it just me or are these on sale every week?

    • +1

      they are but this time it is under $300 with shopback

      • Not every week. I waited about 3 weeks before the videopro deal a few days ago

  • How these compare with Sennheiser PXC550 Wireless? Anyone happy to share personal experience?

    • +1

      These have better NC.
      The PXC are a bit flat and overrated IMO

      • +1

        And the PXC controls are one of the worst I tried.

    • After making a few adjustments via CapTunes the 550s sound very good for mine (using aptX). As far as NC is concerned tho not as good as the Sonys or the Bose. Touch controls are very sensitive but haven't had any issues myself after first few uses. Pretty comfy and looks decent as well imo.

      • May I know what you set? I find speech effect to get best sound when using in flight entertainment. Other effects seem to be muffled, which requires higher setting on volume. Movie effect Sounds best on my computer.

        • If you install CapTunes you can go into the Director Effect Mode and make adjustments.

          I have set:

          Boost = Thump
          Spatial = Near
          Reverb = High
          DLC = On

          For music and pretty much every thing else it sounds great to me. You can also make further EQ and sound adjustments but those only seem to apply to music played via CapTunes (so your saved/downloaded tracks).

          Also if you have an aptX enabled phone do check that's what's actually being used. For instance with my LG V30+ I had to go into Developer settings to select aptX as it was using AAC I think as default.

            @dins: Thanks heap! I will try it. It is really a toss up between the two headphones for me as both have pros and cons. I gave bose to my partner as i like how pxc sits well on my head.

    • I owned both Bose and pxc 550. I have bose first because it had the best deal at the time and couldn’t justify to pay $400 for pxc, which i preferred over bose. Bose noise cancelling is very good. Sound is a bit flat but I am not fuss. Very comfortable. Easy to use. “Plug” and play. The only issue being too big for my small head so it falls off when I slightly tilt my head forward or backward. Be aware that you can’t adjust volume with the buttons when it is plugged in to inflight entertainment. I bought pxc 550 on bing Lee deal few weeks ago for $230+ The price is too good to resist. It fits my head well. Very snug. It can adjust the volume when plugged into the in flight entertainment. Recently I tested pxc on a long haul flight. I find the active noise cancelling isn’t as good as bose. I sometime found it didn’t adjust to its max noise cancelling ability so I had to tap twice to turn off the noise cancelling and re-activated it. Another thing about its noise cancelling, It isn’t very effective with the bathroom fan. It just creates white noise! The touch pad takes a while to get used to. I hate it when i accidentally touch it and activated the iTunes and started playing music while I was watching video. The nice thing is that you can talk over without taking the headphone off. It really comes down to personal preference. I will see how well the touchpad last…bose is all fashion but robust.

      • Another thing about its noise cancelling, It isn’t very effective with the bathroom fan.

        You spend a lot of time listening to music in the bathroom?

        • No. That’s just as a test to check how good the noise cancelling is in different environment. the bathroom fan is similar to people who work in a warehouse with loud exhaust fan.
