    Interesting…

  • +22

    Can this grind "ANY" herbs?

    • +3

It can grind flowery and leafly special herbs best, hard leaves or seeds/corns are not recommended.

      • +2

For corn I’d recommend a Jimmy.

        • +2

But that's only if you want to crack it

      • +6

hard leaves or seeds/corns are not recommended.

You try telling my herb dealer that.

  • +39

Great Timing! Just got an ounce of Paprika that is simply not fine enough for me to smoke cook with. Thanks OP!

  • +31

Thanks, grabbed one for my… Basil.

  • +2

great price - about 25% of what I paid for the same thing from OYT

  • Can it be used as medicine pills grinder ?

    • No it can not be used to grind pills.

    • +3

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Pill-Medicine-Crusher-Grinder-Tabl…

Priceline and CWH has it as well. Also cheaper on eBay/AliExpress.

      • +1

Got one of these recently. I wouldn’t call it a grinder. More of a ‘crusher’ effect. So if you need consistency I wouldn’t recommend it. Does crush the crap out of the pill though. It acts like a press of sorts.

        • +2

Yeah if you need consistency you can use a mortar and pestle.

          • +1

@m9: True. Much pricier though, but last forever and always does the job perfect.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Kmart do a great marble one for $12, in case anyone is looking for one. It's not huge, but would be more than okay for pills!

              • @stig: Interesting. I’ll check it out next time I’m in. Cheers.

How does this compare to the tried and trusty Breville Coffee n Spice Grinder?

    • +1

this grinder is manual. It's not suited for coffee or hard seeds. It only works for leafly herbs.

    • +5

nothing to this day has bettered my kmart $12 spice grinder

    • The coffee grinder is the best possible source of dusties IMO. I've never had a hand grinder that really collected anything worthwhile. You need to be super aware of how long you're muzzing for to avoid turning your herb to powder too. I see it as a bit like smoking tailors vs rollies - I find it kind of cathartic doing it all manually.

Never Ozbargain under the influence of …herbs.

    • +1

Or alcohol - you might buy a $680 iPad pro. Or something…

      • +3

That's how I ended up with a Tesla for each person in my family

  • +13

Beats a film canister and a pair of scissors.. just sayin'

    • +2

cant believe you still have a film cannister tbh… i cant find any of mine (not herb related, just in general)

    • +3

Lol, this is how I did it when I first started cooking. Then I learned, and grew, and matured, kinda.

This deal gets a +1 from me for the amusing comments alone!

    • Agree funniest thread I have read on a monday ever

  • +2

I may or may not have one of these.

If I did (and I'm not confirming nor denying), I'd say it does a great job and is nice and compact.

    • awesome! did you leave us a product feedback! You can still do it just click here OR amazon.com.au/ryp it takes you right to your orders, write a review and submit.

    • What happens when your herbs are super sticky does it get all stuck in there?

For some reason my herbs are usually sticky and get stuck in these kinds of things

I don't use the jazz cabbage but came for the comments!

  • Can I use this to grind coriander?

  • +1

We have not tried that, as coriander is mostly used fresh. fresh herb are not well to be grind they will most likely turn into pesto. I would not test.

  • Surprised this has stayed up this long. I posted a deal from AusVapes and it was pulled almost instantly. Both items are used for a variety of herbs.

    • +3

My understanding is vape deals are banned to avoid the legal ambiguity in "advertising" for "smoking related products".

I'd love to see them though. New website perhaps?

      • Haha yeah an OzBargain 'after dark' would be awesome. Funny you should mention it because australianvaporizers.com.au just sent me a code for 20% off this morning - MAY20

        • Penalty box incoming! /S

    • That’s a shame, because they’re great for things like Damiana, Calea, Leonotus, catnip… mullein in your mix at this time of year is good, too.

  • +1

Best deal i've ever encountered here, thank you

  • Have a look at "Customers who bought this item also bought" :)

  • +1

usually, any decent sticky herbs will coat these type of grinders up with the nice resin from your lettuce pretty quicky. It steals the goodies off ya herbs.

    • +2

We have been using this grinder for 6 month now, since we cook daily it's in constant use. works perfectly fine and any herbs maintain high quality and flavor.

      • just sell me some brownies already!

  • +3

From what I hear, these are a necessity for making left handed cigarettes.
