  • damn thats a good price
tossing up between that for $500 and thinkpad edge 13 (for $679) a few weeks back.
this would have tipped the scales.

This is an awesome price for such a lightweight machine.

  • Great price, shame i have no real need for it!

  • Where you get $399 from? It says $499 on the website.

    • yer…

    • Says $399 for me but it's sold out.

    • no it doesn't. It clearly says #399 when I click the link.

      • I saw $399 and green in stock icon as well.
Tempted to sell my EEEPC 900 and upgrade to this one then throw in a SSD..
        but meh…

        • the AMD netbooks are the true successor to atoms.

  • Sold out!

Price back to $399 and sold out… seems a bit suspect what with the increase to $499 mentioned above.

  • +5

very suspect. Just rang and certainly out of stock - looks like a bait and switch.

    • not bait and switch. I saw this yesterday morning at this price, wasnt in the marktet for a notebook so didnt know if it was good or not.

dont know how long its been at this price before yesterday either.

      • haha, fair enough. I saw this when it was first posted, told a friend who went to buy about 90 mins later and out of stock!

        Bad timing…

  • +1

It has been on special for.. quite a while (at least I thought it was, could've been a different laptop I guess) So being out of stock quickly wouldn't be too much of a surprise.

    • -1

Yep, it's been that price for a while. Not that great for the price imo, you can get better.

      • +3

        ["ultra"]Portable laptop though :)

  • sold out

  • Hopefully this means that Onlinecomputer.com.au will reduce their price down to $400 as well. I quite like the specs for this device to use for work when I travel. The 15" is nice but too big and heavy.

  • man…..sifff i only been away for a while.TOO LATE now T.T

  • I remember looking at this on the weekend and it was $349…!

    • +1

Where can one buy this laptop for $349? I'm sad that I've missed out.

      • On the same site! I was thinking of buying it for my mum, but she said she didn't need it.
Sounds like it was a really great offer!

        • +2

err.. I could be wrong, but in my experience, it is hard to buy something that's sold out ;)

  • Great find, shame it's out of stock. Normally PCCG are quite pricey too.

  • does anyone know if the dedicated graphics card (dock) can only be outputted to external display or can it be on the laptop itself too?

    • I believe it can output to two displays if I recall correctly.

A friend got his Mum one of these for $500 delivered less than a couple of months ago, and its a great laptop. $399 is a total steal!

  • It's now down as a pre-order at $399. ETA has 1/6/11, but that would be today.

    • Sold out again :-(

  • +1

Seems to be back in stock

    • Cool :) If either Scrimshaw or a mod could update the title/description to reflect this that'd be handy.

    • +1

      Out of stock again

      • +1

The price has already changed to $429.

        • Still I good deal I suppose. Hoping that Online Computer will drop their price to match as they have got the order options to add on extended warranty which I want.

  • Now no longer stocking this one :-(

    • Sometimes they remove items they're not sure of the ETA on, so maybe they've done that here? :S I suppose this model might be out of production now as well. Gigabyte's engineers might be working on a newer one based around sandybridge or something :)
