gonna look for some guides for modding.
maybe some smash bro melee would be worth it (rom for gc)

    • +1

hack it and load everything on it

      • console doesnt even turn on :(

shame as the pad is in amazing condition

no light either so guessing its the console

        • yeh then return it obviously

sure power brick is in properly?

          • @cyrax83: yep was in properly,

returned it and they let me keep the pad (the other one wasnt in as good condition) this one had a screen cover that look like it never came off.

also this wii u had mario kart 8 on it…. not sure why but wont complain.

will mod it this weekend recon u could shoot me a pm with how :) wanna get my melee on before the UCL final (got the mates coming)

  • Any chance it will come back in stock?
It's still in stock on the site

    • +1

      Back in stock :)

  • Horrendous day at work and complete missed out.. beyond inconsolable

    • +3

Spend the extra $20 at EB and get it?

    • Back in stock :)

  • Im in perth wa. Buyers remorse. Anyone want mine before I get a refund.

  • Went to pick mine up today. The console has a bit of scuff on the bottom, but the Gamepad doesn't have a single scratch on the screen, basically brand new (I'm assuming it a replacement screen).

All components was genuine except for the sensor bar, which was third party.

  • +2

How can they say they clean these up, what a load of rubbish, mine has dried smudges and white scuffing all over it. I am glad they included a sticker to cover it up somewhat. Scratches in the screen are quite distracting during use too and the edges all seem to have dried debris around them. I'll give it a good clean myself tomorrow, but just can't believe how dirty it is and that people don't take better care of their things. My Wii original still looks brand new! Keen to mod it and play the latest Zelda :)

    • put a screen protector on, minimises the visibility of scratches

    • My GameCube is in as new condition and I brought it here from the UK!

Some people are just filthy pigs :-o My kids couldn't even get something that dirty if they tried!

  • How to click and collect?

  • Boys we are back in stock

  • How are people opting for click and collect/pick up?

    • You can't anymore

      • Now it really is Russian roulette on what you get! With the additional postage cost your saving $16.65 by ordering from ebay store, as opposed to possibly having the option to pick one that is in good condition from your local store (if they have in stock and if they have multiple options to pick from).

        Dilemma.

Already got 2 so I'll pass

  • Got mine last night, condition is just normal , looks old with scratches everywhere.
Tried to load homebrew but got stuck with c"fsgetmountsource failed" - that was on a 32gb sdcard, and i found a 64gb sdcard which i had to reformat ( took hours to went to bed). Will try to load homebrew again tonight.

  • Thanks guys! Been eyeing off getting a Wii U for around a year now

  • Is the WiiU online store still online?

    • +1

tried to download pinball but said server problem..

      • thanks.. that's a shame.

    • Yes.

  • I had already purchased the basic wii u. Is it worth getting this? As far as I can tell from an online store the only difference is the internal memory?

    • probably not. Same same really… the basic is just 8GB of memory and doesn't have the sensor bar (which you only need if you play Wii games). The 8gb vs 32gb doesn't matter as you'll need to use an external drive anyway if you hack it. I do think the black colour is a bit nicer but shows fingerprints more.

Got a black one in store today (city cross Adelaide) but the screen is pretty scratched and grubby.. kind of regret it as I'm a bit OCD!!!! :D

    Why are people so scruffy!

  • +1

tempted to buy but scared ill get some scratched and filthy console as u can only do delivery now

    • +2

Scratched and filthy…..just how I like it.

  • Click and Collect an option again and suddenly available everywhere in SA! (yesterday showed none)

    • Yup looks like it's back

  • click and collect an option is available now.

  • Got mine set up kids love it.. It has Mario kart preinstalled.

Seem to have a problem with the left analogue stick.. in menus it sometimes goes down without touching the stick..tried to calibrate but no change.. happens in games too

    Did I get a dud?

  • Got it via C&C as it was avaipable again this morning. Minor scratches but it looks pretty good. Now.. any ideas where to get wiimotes? Are those generic brands any good? It seems that they dont sell the official ones anymore?

    • +1

Now.. any ideas where to get wiimotes?

Gumtree, Cashies and other second-markets are your best bet, but its condition will vary.

Are those generic brands any good?

If you despise your little sibling, in-laws or the like, sure. Otherwise, stay away form them - they are generally terrible.

Just got my wii u premium. Had mario kart 8 pre installed which was nice. The wii u game pad is in pretty bad condition, something is rattling inside, joycon sticks are loose, digital pad creaks. Scratches prominent and scuff marks. Screen is a replacement screen- obvious the gamepad was dropped at some point and the screen replaced. It works though.

The wii u console also works. It isnt in great condition either but I'm more concerned with the gamepad. I'll have to look at whether replacement parts for the gamepad are available and if I can fix it myself (not being much of a tinkerer) or send the whole thing back and try again :(

    • Mine rattles too, thought that was normal. Seems like most people are getting pretty poor condition consoles, mine all works though so not going to fuss too much over it. Already got Zelda BOTW up and running, looks great.

Mine just arrived and it looks like they sourced it from a curbside collection.
The gamepad is scratched and chipped and battered all over , the screen has a few decent scratches, which is understandable, but the sticky grime in all the screen corners is a mystery to me (best case scenario is that it was used as a beer coaster.). The fan in the main unit is thick with dust and (im not kidding) the whole thing has been covered in faded matt black contact paper, complete with air bubbles and fold lines all over it. If that's an improvement, then god knows what's underneath it.

I didnt get any cover stick or whatever it is other people are mentioning, but i doubt it would help anyway.
Ive been to scared to actually plug it in.

    From the ebgames website….

To get a Preowned console ready for its new home, it first undergoes rigorous checks by our Refurbishment team.
To make sure it lives up to the awesome standard you’d expect, we:
Perform a check on all components
    Inspect all ports and inputs
Refurbish or replace parts to meet our standards
Format the console and restore the system
    Give it a good clean!

Mine arrived in the post yesterday though only had chance to set it up this morning.

I have no affiliation with EB Games and usually avoid them like the plague knowing how they usually try and rip consumers off (particularly on new games) but I did bite at the deal to buy a Wii-U as, although I already have one, I wanted to solid machine I could easily soft mod and play a lot of nostalgic games with on another TV in the house.

Having seen other comments here I was nervous of the type of condition the Wii-U would be in but I have to give kudos to EB Games on this one. Both the console and gamepad are in great condition - sure it is not brand new but the gamepad screen is perfect (hardly any signs of use at all!) and although the console unit itself has a few little smudges it is also in excellent condition. Went through the set up, took Mario Kart 8 for a spin just to check gamepad controls are working fine… all working great! Very pleased and impressed.

Clearly it is a toss of a coin what sort of condition refurbished consoles are in from EB Games, particularly if you have them delivered and do not sight them in the shop, but just wanted to hopefully assure you that you can strike it lucky with them sometimes! For others who are now receiving them in the next day or so I hope you have the same experience I have had.

  • Received mine by post yesterday. The gamepad is pretty much in impeccable condition. The console has few scratches on the surface but not as much to bother me. Pretty happy with what I got and I am probably one of the lucky ones to recieve one in good condition.

Now time to find some deals on a SD card, ds game to mod the Wii U and some Wii remotes to have some Wii sports fun. The modding seems to be bit more complex than modding a Wii.
