I wonder if the three words on the blocks are the same or unique to each block.

Also blocks appears to be $4.80 this week at Woolworths, so might be worth waiting until they're on special.

    • +5

Crazy whey they have 350gm blocks for $5!

      • +2

Fun Fact: Whey is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained.

Promotion closes 11:59pm (AEST) on 30/07/2019, can wait for a few weeks for the special price.

    • +3

I think the idea is that you win a 'free' bar of chocolate - i.e. you spend $5 on the chocolate and then are reimbursed $5 via a gift card. As such I can't imagine the bars will go on sale during the promo period…

      • +5

Except, they are (on special)… $2.40 this week

    • +2

      Stingy kents!

Am i the only one who read those words as a sentence and had a giggle?

      • Dammit thought they are generic throughout all blocks

        • They would be.

There will only be a set number of moulds used.

  • +1

Goddamn it. I just bought 3 but didn’t require a receipt

    • +25

You did require it. You just didn't know it yet ;O

    • +1

    180g Cadbury Dairy Milk block

I remember whe these family blocks were 250g, then they dropped to 200g and now 180g!

    • +8

Yep, give it a few years and they'll just be negative voids.

      • +5

Then marketed as weight loss bars

      • +2

Black holes sucking in $5 notes

        • Nah I would wait until it was on special and only pay $2.50

    • And some have already dropped from 180 to 170g!

      • +4

Then theres the bubbly range. They found a way to sell us air!

    • Not only that, from what I could recall the RRP for the 200g and 180g were exactly the same. Less choc for my same buck!

      • +3

They took off the Halal logo and demand from overseas decreases??
Or is it just the same like housing crisis, less land size with the same, even much higher price tag? Poor us, poor the future of Australian children.
I’m not leftist, but seems politician and capitalist are the same people now.

      • It's called inflation. Annoying, but an incredibly simple concept.

You'll probably find your wages are higher today than they were back then to compensate for that.

    • Then you know how they’re doing it. Give special promotion or half price in catalogue, put a new packaging (rebranded), voila, it’s the same full price with less weight/volume.

  • +4

    I’m voting Cadbury next election

    • wouldn't it be nice if Canberra were Cadbury?

      • Start on the light rail :)

      • It would be sweet

  • +3

Words you may find on your specially marked block include, but are not limited to, Cadbury, Love, Creamy, Choc, Friends, Yum, Family, Share.

  • +1

Isn’t Cadbury half price next week?

  • Went to two Woolies, don't see any special marked Cadbury anywhere. Are they release yet?

    • Went to woolies also and only found a couple of blocks. More coming maybe?

    • Ordered online and the description said they were specially marked but when the order arrived, was a 'non specially marked' one :(

  • +4

Up to 60 days to wait for a price drop. I am patient.

  • Presumably this implies that only a small propportion of the blocks will actually contain the words required?

    • +1

Only require to submit location of store and receipt, don’t think they would know which blocks you purchase..

      • One would presume then that the words are unique, otherwise they would be giving $5 to everyone?

        • +1

Perhaps so if they didn’t anticipate people could be sharing words..

  • +3

Purchased 3 blocks on one receipt today. Found at least three of the words as mentioned above. Claimed 3 times and received 3 X $5 vouchers.

    • +1

Did you get the vouchers immediately?

      • +2

        Within a couple of hours.

        • Thanks!

          • @ilovefullprice: Same here! Got one for $4.80 and found three words. Check your spam/junk folder though - that's where mine ended up :)

    • What were the three words on each block? Is it a series of words in a block?

  • -3

I'm thinking all the blocks have the words? But once you open it you can't claim cashback then also get a refund for super profit…

  • -7

My Coles have Cadbury 180g blocks for $3. (on special 30% off)
    1) Buy some of these
    2) Buy the specially marked blocks from Woolies (whatever price)
    3) Claim gift cards using blocks from Woolies
    4) Return the blocks from Coles to Woolies at the Woolies price
    5) Profit

    • Do they not check the barcodes in the system for returns?

    • Coles has a win $1k cash promo for cadbury.

    • -3

Don't waste your time buying them from coles, then returning them.

Just buy them from woolies (to get the receipt), open the pack (to get the code) and return it … much quicker that way and you save $5 on the initial purchase too. You don't have to worry about cavities, diabetes or obesity either.

      Just your conscience … kamra's a bitch!

      • +1

there's no code inside the pack. don't even need to open the thing.

      • How do you intend on returning something you opened? XD

        • -1

Woolies/Coles have a pretty liberal return policy. Just tell them you don't like it. There's no requirement for the item to be in resalable condition.

  • Can anyone explain how this works? i'm so confused

  • +1

If this is now classed as a comp May we please have a button so we can mark ourselves as a winner? Thank you

    • Fixed it, now you should be able to mark yourself as a winner.

    • I need to mark myself as a two times loser…

      • Did you mean you got 2 blocks and there were no words?

        • +5

That's correct. Both blocks were specially marked.

Whoops - I was expecting the words to be on the wrapper, didn't find any, so ate the chocolate before I realised the words were on the squares. Does anyone know what words are on the block with YUM across the second bottom row?

          • +3

            @CacheHunter: Family, yum, share

          • +1

@CacheHunter: you dont need to find them in your choc blocks. just reuse them.

          • @CacheHunter: Did same - ate the choc expecting to find 3 words on wrapper… Disappointed😞
            Then read this.
Provisional winner thanks to the words here👍

  • -2

WD worthless only 5 k of prizes for a National Comp . Don't buy .

Should be negged for the initial scam of being $5 egift card for a 180 g block . That what it stated a few days ago .

  • Unless I'm missing a something obvious, there is no mention of just 1,000 prizes. Is there?
