Those on a budget and not wanting to get fancy with extra apps might want ti consider vodafone tv at $72.

      A much better option IMO.

      • I love my Vodafone tv combined with the Foxtel Go Kodi add on

        • +1

Just hope they update to latest Android version at some point..

          • @scottySK: My mibox s is going smooth until Android 8 update lol so maybe it's good vodafone hasn't updated lol 😂

        • Didn't know this ^ I've moved on from Kodi to CinemaHD app

        • Anyone know if either/both the mi box or Vodafone TV work with harmony remotes? Googling for the mi box has some threads on the Logitech forum from the start of the year where it wasn't working properly but I can't find whether it works now

          • +1

            @salem: Yep.

They both have IR receivers, and both work with Harmony remotes.

    • Yeah i got one recently too for the $72. It was even shipped with free Toll Priority delivery and arrived over night.

    • Thanks, went and got it

  • I struggle to stream locally or cast Stan to this. Anybody have the same issues?

    • +3

Load the Stan app on to the mi box. Simple

  • As per earlier comments, I really struggle to see any point in this over the Vodafone TV which also has a TV tuner and is cheaper.

  • Can anyone recommend a box that supports component out for a CRT. I keep it around for retro gaming but the YouTube and Netflix apps for Wii have reached end of life.

    • +1

It's probably going to be a lot easier just picking up one of these, then you won't be limited by your choice of media box.

Either that, or for $50 get a generic Android Media Box which has a 3.5mm AV out, but will be a bit clunky in comparison to Voda TV or Mi Box.

    • Emulation might be a better option, which is perfectly legal if you own the games.

Since the Oreo upgrade my Mibox is an unstable PoS. Can no longer watch Google play movies because Dolby Digital+ got broken, and have to hard-reset constantly. Half-inclined to neg as this is now a broken product.

    • More recent updates should solve your problems, and failing that, here's a place that the developers keep an eye on:

Yes my Dolby atmos drops out since Oreo, latest updates have not repaired it

      • They simply stopped advertising that they support it…

Latest updates did little for me. Remote doesn't fully unpair anymore, but it doesn't respond straight away either after not being used for a few days.

    • I've had no issues with mine. Have you tried factory reset?

      • DD+ dropouts is a well documented issue for the Mibox on Oreo.

  • Sorry a bit off-topic, I have 2 Vodafone boxes in my house and I also have a Google Home Mini which I would like to use (via voice commands) to play videos on the Vodafone boxes. Due to some weird reason, my Google Home app doesn't recognise one of the Vodafone boxes as TV, the other one appears okay in the app as TV (with red play icon). Here is the snapshot of my Google Home :

    Any ideas ?

    • Have you renamed the second Vodafone TV?

      • +1

Yes I renamed it to something like "My Room"…. But I have now renamed it back to "Vodafone TV 2" and assigned it to the same room as the other and it works fine now… Thanks for your help. :)

  • Still no ethernet though
