I've optioned it up to $12,675.

    • hahaha, impressive!

  • Is it easy to open the case & replace the HDD? Thanks

      service manual.

yes, very easy. remove screws and take bottom cover off to get access to ram, battery, hdd.

note that you can install m.2 2242 or 2280 or Nvme, and there's also SATA port, so can install 2 hard drives if you like. small Nvme for os and programs, and leave HDD in for photos, movies etc. or replace with a cheap SATA SSD to keep the weight down.

    • Not quite as easy as just unscrewing, but not too hard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySrr06UCvNk

eew/ill specs, pain in the future, better go a bit higher on CPU, RAM & SSD.

  • Is there extra ram slot? No such option on customisation page.

    • yes, 2 ram slots on board. max 16gb (2x8) supported.

$11 extra for fingerprint reader option - a good addition if being used by someone who hates typing passwords

  • a bit more investment required to make this a future proof machine. an SSD and 4gb more ram will set you back $100 let's say, if you keep requirements low. otherwise it's a very good option.

budget option. and yes like someone mentioned above, fingerprint reader for $11 extra is great.

Looking to replace Mrs laptop, a lenovo g50 n3240 quad core painfully slow.

This cpu clocks in about the same as my i7-6500u!

Have a spare ssd already, so this plus 4gb ram stick for $39 looks like a decent replacement, she's living with crap battery and a 1368x768 screen!

    • Where did you find the ram option?

    omg

  • Still available as of 12:05 AM QLD.
