Just a heads up, I bought a Versa early last year and have had nothing but problems synching it with a Samsung S8 and S10. I've had Fitbits (and Pebble watches for that matter) since they first came out, and the Versa has simply been frustrating with it's unreliable synching. Trying to resolve with Fitbit's support has been terrible, there is a definitely lack of software development and support most probably due to cost-cutting. YMMV but if you're using Samsung handsets, avoid them if you value your sanity.

      Definitely agree with bdl.
They're a nightmare to sync. Also you can't get them repaired if the screen gets damaged.
Having said that, once it's sync'd it works OK but it's a pretty expensive risk to your wallet and sanity.

      • I always wanted to upgrade my old SAMSUNG Gear FIT with THIS but after reading I have to reconsider & stick with SAMSUNG PHONE + Samsung activity watch.

        thanks

        • Yeah I've just switched to a Galaxy Watch Active and much happier with it

      • There were significant sync issues for Fitbit devices with the release of Android 9.0. It affected more than just Fitbit though, Garmin was affected as well and apparently other devices. Basically a change Google made to how Android worked with battery saving and Bluetooth.

Looking at that thread people are still affected. I was affected for around 5 months on my Charge 2. But it is resolved now (OP5T running Android 9.x). My wife with her S10e had no issues, but she only got the new phone after Fitbit started releasing fixes.

The biggest issue for me with the Versa is battery life, its garbage if you ask me. 4 days roughly…that's just p*ss poor. My Charge 2 does for 7-14 days. My mates Garmin 7-12 days with active use too.

  • I have to agree. I've had Charge HR, Charge 2, and now Charge 3. They have all been problematic at syncing and battery use
Actually 3 is probably the worst. Generally you need to write at least 30 minutes off to coax it to sync.

This morning I stupidly wondered if it would tell me how long I slept last night. Of course app told me device not found so since I didn't have a spare 30 minutes I left it at that. And now my phone tells me Fitbit ran 2 minutes and used 17% battery.

  • As much as I liked my working fitbit. Service and support from fitbit is shady and non-existent. There are too many hurdles. The one I faced was "item bought from unauthorised seller/reseller". Fyi bought from shopping express on ebay. Even the seller wanted the whole fitbit back just to bloody replace a broken strap!

    No more FitNowCrapLater for moi.

  • Any of these have built in GPS?
    Good for kids travelling oversea?

    • Apparently not. Upon checking on the Fitbit site, seems only the Ionic has a built-in GPS, rest rely on the linked phone's GPS capability.

Great timing as my wife wanted the fitbit charge 3 for her birthday. Thanks!
