  • What's the diff bn Tamriel and Summerset? Do they both contain the base game but different DLCs or something? Sorry i never played the game so confused by it a bit.

    • +3

      Tamriel is the base game.
Next expansion is Morrowind, 3rd is Summerset, and the latest that came out this month is Elsweyr.
For $10 + $3.90 shipping, its best to get Summerset.

      • in most cases, the expansions include the base game and the expansion, but not all the expansions before it.

(you can buy just the expansion with no base game though)

        • That is suitably confusing! I might pick up Summerset.

          • @pdtmathieson: sorry, :(

yes, pick up summer set, then you get the base game and one of the "chapters"…

you wont get the "chapters" Morrowind or Elsweyr…(need to be purchased separately).

there is quite a bit of DLC for the game as well. but the base game in its self is also a good start.

            • @wisc: How much is Morrowind in the in game store as its also $10 at bigw?

Worth noting that there are no servers in Australia for this game, just NA and Europe afaik.

    • I get about 300 ping, which is fine for an MMO…

How is the quality of the quests/story in this game? The thing that makes Skyrim still playable is the decent quality and huge number of quests, wondering whether this is more like World of Warcraft or Neverwinter with basic repetitive quests.

    • pretty good, i don't think as good as skyrim, but there is so much in the game, guilds, dungeons so many side quests…

its very simplified though compared to skyrim, which i think is why it didnt review quite as well.

      • A game being even simpler than skyrim really says something.

    • Its an mmo so more like Wow then Skyrim. I only played till level 20ish and thought it was pretty interesting.

  • Just picked up the Tamriel edition for $5 At Macarthur Central in Bris. There were no markings for the price reduction so had to scan them but sure enough OP is correct. There was no summerset edition but there was Tamriel for 5 or Morrowind for 10.

Can i just say how much i (profanity) hate how publishers these days require you to parse a spreadsheet to work out which edition has what ffs btw
