    Does this go in a 3 yr old acer laptop? It has an i5 8gb ram but takes 20 years to load windows.

      This will work in an external enclosure. Probably won't get the same performance as a T5 though.

      It is a SATA III drive so a SATA cable is needed. It will work on any SATA (I/II/III) motherboard.
