PLINK20

Super duper price on the 240G Crucial BX500 SSD Drive, and they're selling fast.

Much better than several recent deals.

Other brands/sizes available, but this one seems to be vested with the most awesomeness.

Part of the Computer Alliance 20% off Storewide Sale.

Note the 480G is available for $53.60 @ Futu Online eBay (eBay Plus, coupon PEOFY).

Looks like Futu dropped their price to beat this deal, $38 before discount, $30.40 after with 20% off code PEOFY. If you wanted to save $0.80 :p

    • Thanks for the free maccas soft serve cone!

  • Whats the speed of these like compared with Samsung 860, 970, etc?

    • -2

      Slower & way slower.

    • +3

for daily use (booting, browsing and launching apps), you wouldn't feel the speed difference.

    • The speed of NAND cell death(due to writing) is faster, but fine for everyday normal desktop use.

  • can u buy in store for the 31.20?

  • Hm, I don't need a SSD, but I'd better check the store for any good HDD deals. I need to get another 1 to 2 TB one.

    • Did you find anything? The cheapest I found was the 2TB for $76. Not including delivery

  • How do these compare with the Kingstons?

  • -1

You can't get lower than that.

Does anybody think this is worth buying? 8TB WD 3.5" USB 3.0 My Book External , $280. It's $223 on Amazon US but would the extra $57 be offset by using ebay GC card and extra tax return?

Fantastic deal. Makes no sense to buy any of those 120gb ones now.

For people near a Umart store, it's available for pick up at $35

  • Does this SSD have a significantly higher failure rate compared to Samsung or Intel SSD?

I am not too concerned about the speed or performance but I would prefer a reliable drive

    • +1

Setup a proper backup schedule, nothing is reliable even industrial ssd parts.

Very nice… time to bring an old laptop back to life.

Ordered Saturday, Arrived first thing this morning in SA

    Fantastic turn around

  • Benchmark with the Kingston A400, a Tom's Hardware review, and another random review.

Some of the reviews are critical, esp in connection with 4K random performance, whatever that is - probably something to do with the deep queue mixed IO, whatever that is.
