    AMD YES!

    • What I think of when people say team red HERE

You'd be mad to buy this so close to Ryzen 3000 launch

Yeah I actually was on the verge of building a new rig when Lisa Su dropped the heavy facts. It's too hard not to at least wait till benchmarks are released.

    • I would definitely agree, worth waiting until some independent benchmarks are released. At the very least the pricing of the current Intel chips will become much more aggressive if the AMD press release is true. Unfortunately, AMD are known to over hype their announcements, epsecially with their last two GPU releases, so I will taking whatever they say with a healthy dose of skepticism. Either way, its great to see some real competition returning to the CPU market, its well overdue and a win for all consumers.

      • lets not forget Intels shenanigans with 14nm++++++++

They're running out of puff that they had to resort to an industrial chiller lol

I think it's more so AMD's religious fanboys that are responsible for the overhyping of the GPUs.

I don't think it's too foolish to believe in the potential of Ryzen 3 considering the last 2 generations of Ryzen, but as with all manufacturer benchmarks - they should be taken with a grain of salt, it's marketing material afterall.

Either way, unless it's critical to buy something right now (like for work purposes) then it would be wise to wait a month.

    • Not to mention intel performance is decreasing with every new vulnerability they find and patch…

only AMD can make Intel great again

    • Great in terms of what? Besides value, Intel currently own the crown for top chips in the game.

    well i feel silly… i just bought a 9900k for 650 :(
god this is a good deal. i do agree with everyone that waiting for rzyen 3000 is a good idea.
but don't rule out the 9700k, its a 8 core that you can buy right now that can do 5ghz

    • Great price on 9900k, where did you get that?

      • i bought it used. was a month old chip going by the receipt but main thing i went for was i got to see how it would overclock before purchase. a lot of the chips aren't able to hit 5.0ghz so i got to see it running at that before purchase what was nice.
amd and intel have flipped now. this chip draws so much current and heat. it was drawing over 260watts. but at this point for gaming a 9900k is just for flexing.

  • Intel pricing is not going to drop dramatically overnight on 7th JUL, so this can still be a good deal if you need a cpu in the next month or two.

  • Best value Mobo and ram to go along with this? I have a 1070 and good PSU and a WiFi card already.

  • Any good Z390's boards to go with this on Comp Alliance?
