  • Does anyone know where I can try this VR system.
I'm hyperopic in one eye and myopic in the other and I'm not sure whether there is enough focus adjustment in the goggles to compensate or whether I'm able to wear my reading glasses whilst wearing the goggles?

You wear your glasses while using it … I have a massive head and 63mm width between pupils … makes for big glasses and the still fit under the hood.

Nice, though I think the Mega Pack is better value with 5 games instead of just 1.

    • Is that on their ebay store too?

I bought one today. Will be spewing if I could have got 10% off.

      • Had a look couldn't find it on eBay store. I meant an extra $75 for the 4 more games is still better

  • Wow, just noticed that one person bought 10 on eBay!

I have just played PS VR for the first time. Played about 2 hours worth. Tried a number of games.

So far I need a rest from motion sickness.

First some general thoughts. Scratching your nose is difficult with the headset on. Getting a clear view seems fickle. With my Gear VR there was a wheel which focuses the screen and you dial it until it's as sharp as it will get. Not so with the PSVR. You can make adjustments to the band and the goggles. Adjusting the googles doesn't make it sharper, but adjusting the band to the sweet spot will. However, it's very sensitive and may not stay exactly where you want it even when you tighten the wheel.

I mounted the camera above my screen. It does not seem very secure sitting up there.

The PS4 doesn't have enough USB ports imo. The rear has only one. I'm now using that one for the breakout box but wanted to keep it for my Astro Mix Amp.

Every now and then I got a blank screen for a few seconds.

The earbuds are not comfortable. The ear gels do not extend far enough, and the hard plastic of the earbuds itself will go into your ear. I have never experienced earbuds this bad. The audio seems fine though. I want to use different headphones, but all of them have too long cables.

The body heat from my face, fogs up the lenses making my view blurry.

The tangle of wires is a nightmare. And the break out box makes it a pain. If you are using the one HDMI input on your display and you want to switch consoles, you have to unplug the breakout box.

The image looks pretty decent. A lot better than I was anticipating. Sony has done something to reduce the screen door effect. On my Gear VR which has a much higher resolution screen, I get pretty bad SDE. In PSVR, you can see the SDE but it's very easy to tune out. It's not very thick.

    Onto the games I tried.

Wipeout: This one looked nice but seemed hard to control for some reason. I play ok in non-VR but play awful with VR on. It's controlled by the dual shock so I'm not sure why this is.

Super Stardust HD: This game is perfect. No complaints at all.

Eagle Flight: Controls seemed fine. All motion is controlled by your head. DS4 is only used to speed up or slow down your flight. The damn eagle does not seem to be able to perch. You must always be flying or you will crash. I don't think you can land. I wanted to land at the top of the Eiffel tower and look down but I keep crashing.

Moss: This game is super fun and a neat idea. You control the little mouse with analog stick and buttons but also have to manipulate the world using the sixaxis controls. The problem is that the tracking of the dual shock is via the light bar, and when you turn it (which you will have to do a lot) the camera can easily lose track of the dual shock. Using motion controls for this game was very frustrating. In fact, I would wager using motion controls with dual shock 4 in any game is going to be a frustrating experience.

I will test out more games tomorrow.

The games included in the Mega Pack have to be redeemed digitally. Normally not an issue for me, except they must be redeemed via AU/EU PSN and I am a US PSN user which means I need a new account.

I'm a bit tired right now. I think I can only handle the VR in short bursts. I will try more games tomorrow. I seemed ok at first, but I quickly got motion sick and I think I need some pills but I don't have any for motion sickness.
