I think you meant *Free with eBay Plus. Thanks OP, good deal!

    • I get confused with so many PLUS/PRIME/FIRST, thanks for your remin. 🙏

      • What service is "FIRST"

        • +2

          Kogan? I think…

        • Kogan.

  • Hasn't Cashback stopped on Ebay?

    • +2

It's a manufacturer (Samsung) cashback offer.

Also, while Cashrewards and Shopback don't offer cashback anymore, Velocity and Qantas frequent flyer still offer points per dollar spent on eBay Australia.

      • Yeah, I was referring to the Cashback symbol on this post and the fact that there is no more Cashrewards on Ebay any more.

Found it cheaper: $91 ($108 plus $17 cashback) with code PEOFY

This deal is better for eBay Plus users, brings it down to $83.

      • Ah my fault, didn't read properly.

      • Got my first 860 SSD, it's so light and "ratchety" is that normal? Or am I picturing portable SSD?

        • +3

Yes, it's fine. When you get your first NVME drive without the plastic case you will be surprised again.

    • +2

      CA: 100 - 17 = 83
      This: 108 - 17 = 91
      question mark

EDIT: For non ebay plus users

  • CX500 is rated around the same speed, is that right?

    • +1

if you mean MX500 then basically yeah, all sata ssds are capped at around 550mb/s read and write is a little less. Choose whichever one is cheaper cause the difference is around 1 or 2 seconds, but this with cashback is around 10-15 dollars more expensive for a higher quality ssd.

      • My EVO 860 is so light is that normal? or fake? Bought from them

        • +4

it shouldn't be too heavy, website lists it at 50g. Computer alliance is reputable so unlikely they'll sell fakes, if you're really skeptical just try to register your ssd on samsung's website.

        • Nah it's normal they're very light

  • how do you redeem your cashback? I believe it'll be long over before you receive your SSD

    • +1

You can redeem it by 14 July 2019, you can follow the link given on the OP.

      • ah i see, thanks

  • should I?

      500GB Sammy 860 for $83 after cashback/ebay plus?

      YES

      • Cheers

  • This or a Crucial P1 NVME m.2 for $92? link

    • I was wondering that myself. It's only $94 at Umart if you miss the sale.

NVME is MUCH faster than SATA so go for the Crucial if you have a compatible m.2 slot.

Here's a benchmark comparison of the two. The P1 is 83% "Hugely faster effective speed" than the 860 Evo:

  • 2TB 860 QVO is $299.20 with code PLINK20 less $35 Samsung cash back. $264.20.

  • 860 evo 500gb vs QVO 1tb
    Will only use for games

  • Has anyone had trouble redeeming the cashback using the link (accessed 12 June 2019): https://www.samsung.com/au/offer/ssdcashback2019/
