[Xbox/PC] 1 Month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate $1 (Stacks Onto Current Subscription) @ Microsoft

3210

Greetings everyone, I just noticed this over at Chollometro and it seems to be available to everyone now (not just Insiders) as per this post.

However, it seems like if you have an active subscription of Xbox Live Gold, activating this deal will give you an extra month on your subscription, plus it will give you the Xbox Game Pass up until that date according to commenters in Chollometro.

The purchase of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate automatically upgrades your Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass memberships.

From what I can tell so far, if you want to take up this offer it might be worthwhile extending your Xbox Live / Xbox Game Pass membership before taking up the offer. As the conversion after taking up this offer seems to be worse than before taking up the offer.

You can recharge up to a maximum of 36 months.

Get all the benefits of Xbox Live Gold, plus over 100 high-quality console and PC games for one low monthly price. With games added all the time, there’s always something new to play. With a huge variety of games from every genre, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy exclusive member deals and discounts. Play together with friends on the most advanced multiplayer network and discover your next favourite game.

Use your active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan membership to play games on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. The Ultimate plan includes the Xbox Game Pass Console Games plan, the Xbox Game Pass PC Games plan (Xbox Game Pass PC Games plan not available in South Korea and Turkey) and Xbox Live Gold.

Note: Purchase of the Ultimate plan automatically upgrades your existing Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass membership(s) to Ultimate at a conversion ratio each based on days remaining. Learn how this works at www.xbox.com/gamepass. Future code redemptions are also subject to a conversion ratio. Conversion ratio subject to change. All conversions to Ultimate are final: Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Ultimate membership back to a previous membership. Maximum 36 months of redeemed Ultimate per account at a time, including any converted time from Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass (for PC or console).

20 New Titles have also been released for the Xbox Game Pass:

Astroneer

I currently have 14 months of Xbox Live Gold. Will I get 14 months of Xbox Game Pass for $1?

That's almost how I understand it

    • +2 votes

From what I've been reading, that's how I understand it, check this comment:

      I had:
Gold until December 2019 (bought with code, not directly to Microsoft or with automatic renewal)
Game Pass until July 2019 (with the promo that came out of three months pulled price, I subscribed and immediately canceled the subscription to avoid future charges )

What this purchase has done was:
Unsubscribe "Gold" and convert it to "Ultimate" by adding one more month, that is, now it expires in January 2020 with the advantage that Game Pass games are also included until that date (7 more months for the face)

Of course, the first thing I did was go to account management and cancel the automatic renewal so that they do not charge € 12.99 per month as of January 2020.

  •

Can I buy it as a gift for someone else?

  • +2 votes

Worked for me. What I should have done is bought some more Gold first. Oh well.

    •

Nice! Do you reckon if you extended your Xbox live it would add more months onto the ultimate or nah?

      •

I just tried with Game Pass, see my comment below.

        •

Thanks for the update! Seems like a weird system, but probably better off extending the current subscription before taking up Game Pass Ultimate from what I can tell to get the most value?

  • +2 votes

It's better to get a 1-month game pass for $1 if you don't have it. GamePass

    Then get 1 month ultimate.
So, you'll get 2 months ultimate for $2.

    Thanks for the deal OP

The Ultimate plan includes the Xbox Game Pass Console Games plan, the Xbox Game Pass PC Games plan

Probably should have Xbox/PC in title

  •

FYI: I had a 1 month GamePass code laying around, I just redeemed it after subscribing to Xbox Gold Ultimate and it said:

Redeeming your 1-Month Xbox Game Pass code will automatically convert to 20 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be added to your current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account. By redeeming this code, you agree to this conversion.

So maybe Xbox Gold and Game Pass codes convert as a 20 days per 1 month ratio?

    •

Oh! I have two 3 month coupons with me. Converted to Ultimate but haven't redeemed yet.

    •

Redeeming your Prepaid Xbox Live Gold 3-Month code will automatically convert to 1 month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be added to your current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account.
      It's 3: 1 now?

      •

        Maybe gold is valued higher.
Oh I misread that. Gold is lower?

      •

Are you redeeming AFTER getting Ultimate and getting 3:1?
        I'm confused..
My GOld sub has expired so,
I buy 12month Gold, redeem now.
        THEN buy the $1 Ultimate.
Will that convert the 12month gold to 13months of Ultimate?

  •

So … I have about 5 months Xbox Gold credit and 13 Months Game Pass credit. Am I correct in assuming that will stack to give me around 18 months Ultimate credit + 1 extra month free? Don't care about the 1 month extra credit, just don't want to lose my already paid for subscription credits.

    Thanks in advance.

      Yeah, that's right.

    •

      So did you convert?

I have an account with 12 months gold
      And 5 months game pass.

Will that mean I’ll grt 18 months ultimate if I convert ?

      • +1 vote

This was what xbox support said "We have a good deal that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will convert all the remaining Xbox Live Gold + Game Pass to Ultimate one the first time you get it. After that, if you redeem the Xbox or Live Gold code, it will be converted to Ultimate with a fixed rate. "

So for the first time yes you'll get 18 months

        •

So I already have game pass cause I only play on PC but if I buy lets say 6 months of more game pass and then redeem this I will get 6 months of ultimate?

Would be good to play on the xbox from time to time

          •

@GossipGoat: I believe yes. According to Xbox Support, The first time when you convert, each month of Xbox live or game pass will be considered as 1 month of Ultimate and since you are purchasing it you'll get 1 month extra.
i.e. if you have 1 month each of Xbox live and game pass right now and you purchase the $1 deal, then you'll get 3 months of ultimate.

      • +1 vote

I did but I added an extra 12 months Live Gold first.

        "next charge on 12/31/2021" :)

  •

Is it better to buy 12 or more months of XBL then partaking in this deal?

  •

Great deal. Now subbed to Feb-2021!

  •

Is there any links to show that those games are gonna be added to game pass?

If so I’m gonna be pissed. 😂 I just bought moonlighter last week

  •

Converted my gold to this. From November 2020 converted to December 2020

  • +1 vote

    Cheers doweyy ;)

  •

So I have no Gold activated but 2 months left on Game Pass. If I add a 3 month pre-paid Gold I have, it'll give me 5 months of Ultimate after converting?

    • +2 votes

If you add 3 month gold and have 2 months of game pass ten you'll get 6 months of ultimate as you are purchasing 1 month with $1.

  • +2 votes

Just worked on my 2 accounts (4 Xbox's in the house) with both extended for another 12mths!!

    Cheers OP!

  • +2 votes

I jumped on the "3 months for $1" deal back in April…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/449554

So that's 4 months of Game Pass for $2 :)

  • +1 vote

I imagine this is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime deal for this kind of thing. I just converted the remaining 10 months of Game Pass I had (already free from Microsoft Rewards) to eleven months of Game Pass Ultimate for a dollar.

  • +3 votes

Any good Xbox Gold deals that will make this even better?

  • +1 vote

So if I buy a bunch of cheap 1-month gamepass codes, like 12, and 3 months of gold, then convert to ultimate, I will get 15 months of ultimate?

  • +2 votes

GamePass about Feb 2020, Gold about May 2020 - converted using this to Ultimate with next payment due 2021
Now for more racing games for the G920

  • +1 vote

Thanks OP, I had 5 months Gold, 13 months Games Pass and added an extra 12 months Gold before converting.

Xbox Ultimate "next charge on 12/31/2021" … :)

  • +5 votes

Wow what a deal. One of the best posts on OzBargain I have ever taken advantage of.

  • +2 votes

    Wow, epic $1 deal!
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Expires on 8/30/2020. Last charge AU$1.00 on 6/9/2019

  • +1 vote

Anyone know what’s the cheapest Xbox live gold right now?
I haven’t got any game pass, Will this ultimate work for me?

    • +1 vote

Not an awesome deal but I just added 12 months Gold with CDKeys for ~AU$69 but got me an extra 12 months Ultimate for around ~AU$5.75 a month instead of ~AU$16 per month.

    •

or can you buy XBOX Live gold for 1 month and then find cheap Xbox game pass for 34 months and buy this and will add you up to 36 months?

  • +3 votes

it extends up to 3 years, i had nearly 3 years of live gold and a couple months of game pass so now have ultimate pass until June 2022.

  • +1 vote

I don't have any active Xbox Live Gold or Gamepass subscriptions. What's the best way to go about redeeming this to get the best value for money? Should I buy a 12 months of gold before upgrading to game pass ultimate?

    • +1 vote

See if there’s any deals for cheap Gold and Game Pass on your dashboard first.
If so, grab them and then buy however much Gold you want, then use this Ultimate deal.

  •

So weird. I just went to download Astroneer and the store says I purchased it 18/05/19 which is not true and there is no billing history of me buying it. Lol?

  •

So from reading the comments, it seems like once you have Xbox Live Ultimate, you're stuck on that subscription, and topping up with Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will convert it to Xbox Live Ultimate at a certain rate. If that's the case, does that mean you won't ever be able to go back to a normal Gold subscription? I'd want to go back to a normal Gold subscription as I'm not interested in Ultimate (only this one time with this deal).

    •

The way I read it it means your subscription that you traded in can never be reverted back to. But I am not a lawyer, just a humble bikie…

      •

This is what I'd be worried about. I have no real interest in Game Pass, and would not want to lose my future Gold membership through this deal.

        • +1 vote

There won't be a future gold membership. This is the precursor to them eventually shutting down Gold and Game Pass.

      • +5 votes

That’s 3 years into the future me’s problem

    •

Thats not how I read it. I interpret it as, if you convert 12 months of Gold and 12 months of Game Pass to 24 months worth of Ultimate, you can't turn around and say you want to cancel Ultimate and have the 12 months for each service reinstated into seperate services. Most people wouldn't want to do that but say you jump on this offer with only 12 months of Gold and decided you should have bought more before hand to get more Ultimate, you can't convert back to a Gold sub, buy another 48 months of Gold, then take this offer up again. You have to serve out the subscription (which you've paid for anyway) and afterwards if you want you could cancel and sign up with one of the individual services if you wish.

Basically the conversion of existing credit is one way, they won't convert ultimate allowance to Gold or Game Pass.

  •

What a legend! Thanks so much for this. Bought additional live gold and then used this to upgrade.

Unless the date shown in the “My subscription” is USA format (month/day/year), my account is showing I’ve got Game Pass Ultimate till 2/11/2022. I thought the maximum conversion is 36 months though? Not complaining.

    •

Yeah, it's the US date format. Mine says "6/9/2022" after the upgrade, which is exactly 36 months from now.

    •

It is USA format, so you got about 32 months.

    •

Lucky you. I rushed to convert when it was only available to insiders and all this info about adding codes afterwards wasn't known. I quickly converted thinking the deal would only be around for a limited time and now they have opened it to everyone and much more information is known about conversion ratios when you add codes after converting to Ultimate

  •

I converted to Game Pass Ultimate as an insider a few weeks ago, I only had around a year of Gold left.

Didn't know at the time that I wouldn't be able to add codes after and get the full amount of months.

Looks like I needn't have bothered rushing to convert seeing as anyone can do it now! Only ended up subbed until July 2020 :(

Does this also mean that we can never go back to just Gold? I don't want to me stuck on Game Pass Ultimate forever! Hopefully once it expires we can

Do you have to sign up with the Spanish gold service as per the link in Euros?

Paypal is not progressing for payment after logging in and selecting my card.

  •

Nice! I now have Ultimate until June/2021
I had 11 months of Game Pass and 1 year of Gold.

  • +2 votes

Metro Exodus for PC is now free included in this deal :)

  • +1 vote

would it be smarter to buy a 12 month game pass subscription? it seems to be going for 54 dollars on ebay

  •

    Cheers Doweyy…
    - Had Gold and Game Pass, each expiring Jan 2020.
    - Purchased 12 Month Live from cdkeys for $72 (the most I've ever paid but still reasonable value at $6.00/month.)
    - Made sure recurring billing off, applied 12 month Live code, got 13 months (one month free for turning on auto billing)
    - Game Pass still expiring Jan 2020, Gold now expiring Feb 2021.
    - Joined Ultimate for $1, which combined my current memberships, adding together total months membership still open, plus 1 month Ultmate purchased (20 + 7 + 1 = 28).
    - Ultimate now set to expire October 2021.

    Awesome deal.

    Edit: corrected a typo

  •

Wow…thanks for sharing OP. Truly an awesome deal if your an Xbox user who has some months a gold subscription months in advance.

Took up the offer in a whim whilst I was out thinking it may have been an error but now wish I had read the comments in advance. I'm wanting to add a few more months to make the most of this offer but seems pointless to buy a 12 month Gold membership as it will now be converted to 4 months of Ultimate? So I'm better off buying a 6 or 12 months of Gamepass instead. Other then Cdkeys, are there any other places to get them cheap?

My only concern with this is that they could potentially charge more for the service if standard Xbox Live Gold is eliminated and they stop selling/making Xbox Live codes! Forcing all users (who want to play online) to this subscription eventually in time.

  •

I wonder when this will expire? Rather wait for a deal on 12 month gold and then do this.
