    • +9

      It’s also an air fryer

      • sounds delicious

  • -1

i dry my hair with my hands, it costs 0

    • +1

      Good for you.

      • +1

        Pretty cool huh

    • +25

It probably looks like it too…. Invest in your appearance and you won’t have to date your hand, give the poor bugger a rest

      • As always, enjoy!

      • +2

It's quite the investment though. Granted I do have a hair dryer for $15 which works perfectly fine.

  • +2

Played with one in a shop, it's surprisingly quiet. Either that, or my cheap hair dryer is really loud.
    It's really light too.

  • was about the post the binglee ones but apparently these ones are cheaper. Good find

  • Shavershop website is still showing the original price, hopefully this is not a price error on their ebay store.

    PS: ordered 1.

  • +6

$15 one in K-mart does the job

    • +1

      There's always one!

      • theres like 600..

        • Should have bought a tiger instead…

  • Thanks OP good find - best price I've seen in a long time. Might even pick it up for the Mrs for Christmas and get that shopping out of the way

    • surely there will be better deals around Christmas no ?

  • Good price. Bought one. Thanks op!

  • +9

How big is that hole? I am always looking for new experiences.

  • Dyson Airwrap?

  • Wonder how much these cost to make.

    • -6

Same as the normal hairdryers $5-15

  • -2

I have the black one for my 2yr old and it marks easy and always looks dirty cause of the dust and fingerprints don't come off easy.
Best to get another color other than black.

    • Same thing here with the Dyson hot+cool fan. There is always so much dust on it and basically also a fingerprint magnet. Not a very smart purchase for that price tbh.

    • +1

Did you get your 2yr old a Mason Pearson brush too?

      • -1

Yes, a few months ago there was a sale for $80 or something. Both my girls have a dyson hairdryer and mason pearson brush for kids

  • +2

Free bonus stand will be good to display it in the window.

  • Only white/silver and black colour available, the fuchsia version which I think is more popular stays as $499.

I bought the Bing Lee fuchsia with comb and brush plus delivery, $408 in total.
Though this is $359, I'd pretend they are close deals because of the color, brush and comb, can redeem a stand as well haha

Anyway, I can return the Bing Lee and buy this instead but would need to pay postal, which adds more effort, $ and hassle so might just live with it haha

    • the red one with free case sold out

  • +2

Anyone who spends $359 on a hair dryer deserves to spend $359 on a hair dryer.

  • I'm genuinely torn between getting this or the dyson airwrap, long frizzy hair, use to dry and straighten

    • +2

We got both and airwrap has more functionality. Also airwrap can dry hair quicker with the airwrap brush.

      • Sounds like you are quite happy with the airwrap. Do you use it for curls and how long does it keep your hair curly for? Wife is really interested in getting one.

        • +1

My wife and daughters use it. The curls will stay a few hours just enough for the party.

  • +1

Does it break the sound barrier?

  • What’s the advantage of a Dyson hairdryer over a normal hair dryer?

    • -1

Dysons really suck, so the flip side is that they would blow really hard as well.

  • I just want the hair dryer stand. Wondering if I can claim it and then refund the hair dryer :(

  • It's expensive, but not crazy expensive.

Bought one at $399 with the comb a few months back. This is a better deal though, but how long do you wait until one comes along?

We all waste money on all kind of things. A extra $100/$200 on a hair dryer which may last 5/10 years seems rather pedestrian when you look at the big picture.

    • You may actually have a point. I have gone through a number of hair dryers in 4-5 years, and it adds up. Still though, I think $359 is on the high side even for a good hair dryer. At the end of the day, it blows the same air, no matter how fancy the thing is internally.

      • I disagree. Have you used one of these? The technology it has actually dries hair faster than a normal hair dryer while doesnt burn your hair or scalp. Its like comparing a Dyson hand dryer vs a normal hand dryer.

        • One of Dyson's marketing point is that they are able to control the temperature more accurately than other hair dryer, in addition to all the other features and design/technology they put into these things.

As a package, I don't mind paying a bit over for these qualities that the Dyson bring to the table.

My buy in point was the $400 mark. At $500 I would not have bought it. Maybe if they bring it down to $300, it would be more palatable to a wider market.

        • I have not used one of these. But if the output of this device is the same air at a comparable temperature, how can it dry faster? Air distribution matters, but most hair dryers can achieve a comparable distribution.

Which part of the "technology" can make the hair dry faster? The drying process is simply an evaporation process accelerated by increased temperature and increased airflow. That's not technology, it's physics.

          • @Make it so: I would recommend giving one a go in the shops. I was skeptical at first too.

            • @Turbonetics: Nothing beats a field test, definitely not theory. The thing is, I only ever use these things on my daughter. Not sure how bystanders would feel about me pouring a bucket of water over her head in the store to try the drying power of this thing :)

          • +1

@Make it so: you are right, this dyson has nothing special than the other high end dryer. It has super high airflow and pressure, which really dry faster, I only use the lowest speed. The temperature control has no different, just more airflow then less heat, but if not moving around will still burn. More airflow has downside which is often make your hair too dry, usually only good for pro user who can control it. I don't think any pro user will like dyson's button design, push to rotate setting is very slow to adjust, that can easily mess thing up. This only unique of this Dyson dryer is the air filler, but that's kind of joke to have a air fillter in a hair dryer.

        • Paper towels work better than any hand dryer, though.

        • +1

If you have looked at Philips one for $80-$99, it basically has the same technologies besides the way air blows.

You are talking about infrared moist sensor, ionic for quick dry etc.

But paying extra $200-300 for a hair dryer only to have a different method of air delivery isn’t really ozbargain friendly. Lol

          • @goraygo: Are you saying iPhone deals should never be posted on OzBargain either? :)

  • Received delivery update will receive my tomorrow. Sent from local store

  • +2

There's a lot of hot air blowing in here

  • +2

that’s a really good price! but i’m still not willing to let my wallet open for that. I’m a true tight ass

  • +3

    Another high yield investment!

  • Black out of stock.
    Almost ozbargained.

  • its back in stock

  • Does anyone know if this seller is reliable? Got fraud once, scared.

    • I hope they're ok. I bought one and have the tracking number so hopefully it'll turn up

      • Thx for sharing your experience. It's not about this. It is that the thing I purchased was a counterfeit and when I finally realized after it went faulty after 6 months, the seller was already sanctioned (removed) by eBay and I have nowhere to go. Dyson official refused to provide any help to non-genuine goods and PayPal also denied my case for being too long the reason. Now I'm complaining to fair trading and ACCC.

        • +1

It's the shaver shop with 33k+ reviews, from past experience you will get a delivery from your local shaver shop with a in-store docket as if you bought it in store, but just shipped to you. Pretty safe.

        • +1

Shavershop is fine they're a local store with actual store fronts in places like Westfield etc.

          • @fishball: Thx for sharing your experience. Got the deal and I'm happy.

  • Buy this for your girlfriend and/or wife. You will get many plus points.

  • Waiting for Xiaomi to make one

    • +2

Xiaomi has the Mijia hair dryer. I have one, but am not really impressed. It gets too hot, and it only uses 1600 watts which is reflected in relatively low airspeed. Cannot recommend it, unfortunately.

  • +2

    You guys doing it wrong.
I use the air output from V11 to dry my hair. Win win.

  • Doesn't seem to be available now 😭

    • White is back in stock :)

  • Fuchsia available today (with comb and paddle brush extras) until 19 June on Good Guys eBay store. $499 - 20% = $399.20
    White available for $359.20
    Use code: PGOODGUYS
Don't forget to claim the bonus stand via redemption: https://discoverdyson.com.au/bonusgift/

  • +1

Has anyone received the tax invoice from shaver shop for claiming the bonus stand?

    • I only get the receipt from ebay/paypal, and try to redeem the stand. Not sure this one will work or not. Or we should contact shaveshop ebay to get the proper receipt

      • Yeah, I have sent a message through eBay to them asking for the tax invoice.

        • let us know if you can get the proper one from shavershop

          • @DavW: they didin't reply my message

            • @RichardF89: I use the one that ebay send to as receipt to make the claim and I got email from dyson said my stand will ship out shortly.

              • @DavW: I did same and already got shipped and shaver shop sent me the invoice today as well

  • It has been over a week since I purchased one but still not shipped. No reply from them.

    • I received an email from 'Shaver Shop Australia' directly to give me a tracking number. Unfortunately my parcel got sent to the 'wrong' area as I contacted Aus post to find out so i will get it next week meaning it'll take almost 2 weeks to send it.

I would contact Shaver Shop Australia if you have not received a confirmation email with a tracking number. If you have then use the tracking number to see where it currently is and if there's no progress update with the tracking number then I'd raise an enquiry and then contact Aus Post directly quoting your case number that's provided when you open an enquiry ticket. Good luck!

  • +1

Ordered and got confirmation email next day and so far, no tracking update at all. Sent email twice to Savershop and no responses as well. Now they selling again with Ebayplus offer.

    • and more expensive with Ebayplus offer

  • order placed on 12th June and still have no tracking record.
emailed them a week ago and still no response.
