    My 2000th (valid) deal!

    Wow!
And not only that, but a broad range of consistently high quality deals.

One of many reasons why The Phantom is never shy to express his love for @dealbot.

    3 cheers for you Mate!!!

    Keep going.

  •

Does this include those special star like heads that are used in a majority of electronics?

    •

mostly, click the link for all the pertinent details of which screwbits it has.

    •

Yes. Has torx (6 pointed star shaped) bits T2-T6, T8, T10 and T15, it also has 2 other bits that are 5 pointed ones which I have personaly never come across.

      • +3 votes

The 5 pointed ones are the pentalobe screws that apple uses

        • +1 vote

          That's why I haven't seen them then.

        •

Hang on, the pentalobe are usually denoted TS, but that's not listed.

Also i don't see any in these more complete shots.

BTW these are $34.96 at BangGood and $30.61 at GearBest.

          • +1 vote

@DisabledUser256231: Yeh I'm pretty sure they are just a 5 pointed torx, pentalobe seems different, with more rounded points. If you look in the second row on the far right there are 2 that are 5 pointed star shaped. I've had this set for quite a while and I really like it, I barely use many of the bits but it's just a nifty set to have. It looks great and is surprisingly nice to use, the back end bit of the driver free spins, so you can rest it in the palm of the hand you are using and with applying a bit of pressure it still is easy to rotate the driver with your fingers (not sure if that makes sense).

Edit: The 2 bits do say P2 and P5 on the side. Not sure if that is for pentalobe or not.

            •

              @Shaun Prawn: Yep - i know what you're saying.

They don't look like pentalobes, but might still work on them. Who knows?

I've been ignoring these posts for a while but have finally decided to buy a set. This one below doesn't look too bad either.

              • +1 vote

@DisabledUser256231: That does look good too. Double sided. If I didn't already have this one I'd consider it. But then again I am a massive xiaomi fan. I have a ton of their products, from phones and a bunch of different lighting products, to kitchen knives and other stuff in between. The quality and design of their products can't be beaten in the price range they sell for.

            @DisabledUser256231:

Hang on, the pentalobe(en.wikipedia.org) are usually depicted as TS, but that's not listed.

They P2 and P5 bits are Pentalobe, which are also known as P and PL.

          •

@DisabledUser256231: Looking at the pic, the kit has TORX which are 6 sided, but also the 5-sided P2 + P5 bits, which I'm assuming are the Pentalobe bits for Apple?

If you select "Ship from [CN]" it changes price to $24.13 + gst, which is similar price, only taking a few weeks if anyone can wait.

I was considering getting one of those 25-in-1 kits from ebay for $10.. not sure how this kit compares being 2.5x more ?

    • +1 vote

Yes - compare this list of screw drives with those listed in the ad.

Also note the screw drive patterns are shown on the holder - see the first image in the post.

    That time of year again?

Congratulations on the 2000th mate! Here's to the next 2000 👍

Well done, 2000 deals is a lot of time invested into the community! Haters only hating themselves if they throwing shade your way. How is it you're competing when all your doing is investing your valuable time. How much time they invest in positive posts vs negative comments…. I tip my hat to you sir! Thank you!

    No cable ties?

  •

    Well Done👍

  •

    Thanks OP.

  •

Great deal OP and keep up the awesome work!

But just wondering if Shopro should be banned at all? There seems to be more reports of users not receiving their items at all, not receiving their items timely (for a 'locally shipped') product than good news stories of their experiences with shopro…..

    •

you don't normally complain/comment when things are good
bought from them 3 times and received stock within 7 days each time

that said that's just my experience

      •

One of my last orders never arrived. (Same tool kit)
They promptly sent a replacement, via priority post, immediately.
Excellent service, and easy to desk with, I'd shop again.

    •

Also bought a few things from them, always come extremely quick and never had a problem.

  •

More stock has appeared - 300!

  •

Just got in. Thanks dealbot. You good bro.

  •

Thanks OP, great deal. More in stock now

Potential similar alternative to consider here

    https://www.ple.com.au/Products/634854/Kingsdun-49-in-1-Prec...

A little bit cheaper but without delivery, and with double the amount of bits of which you will most likely only ever use 3

    •

But equivalent hardness - HRC 58 compared to Xiaomi's HRC 60, whatever that means.

Shipping is around $11.50 for me.

    •

      wow what a copy!

      but who is copying who?

    •

$11.93 postage kills it for me. Could be a good option for someone who lives near a store though.

  •

Congrats OP. Thanks for sharing numerous consistent high quality deals with the community. The work that goes behind the scenes to scout the best possible deal everytime is arduous to say the least. There is a very minor proportion of 'naysayers' and i wouldn't let that dampen your enthusiasm or contribution for the wider community benefit. Cheers for $2k and more.

  •

Haters gonna hate 😅 But seriously great post. I got these last time around and they are sweet as. Very good build quality

Are the tips magnetic? Can't go back to normal screwdrivers now that I've tried magnetic ones, it's just too convenient picking up loose screws in hard to reach spots.

    •

Looks like it - BangGood link i've given above says so anyway…

      •

Yep, just thought it was a bit strange the original shopro link didn't so wasn't sure. I'll give it a go, thanks.

    • +1 vote

The tips themselves aren't magnetic, but the handle is. So you basically have the same effect (picking up loose screws).

  •

Good Bot. Pull the trigger, first time I've purchased this set.

Friend, congratulations. I don't get it, why would people "compete" to post deals? It's not like you makke money off them or anything.

  •

Hi dealbot, congratulations on the massive accomplishment of crossing a whopping crazy 2000 deals. Holy shit I can't believe how much work you do for this awesome community. Thanks for all your hard work. I hope to see you break 10000 deals.
