While the temperature has inched up a couple of degrees since last week's cold snap, there's no doubt winter is lurking. To help us stay warm for what's bound to be a chilly couple of months, Japanese retailer Uniqlo is giving away garments made from its fancy Heattech fabric, for free.

Between 7am and 7pm this Friday June 14, head to Martin Place, where you won't be able to miss a giant Uniqlo T-shirt installation. Pop inside to have a thermal Polaroid taken, which will be printed with a unique code. Take it in to Uniqlo in the MidCity Centre shopping mall and redeem it for a free Heatteach item.

The range is designed to help your body generate heat and retain it, keeping you cosy whether you're in the snow or strolling Sydney's streets. It includes long-sleeve tees, singlets, leggings and tights.

Uniqlo's Martin Place installation will pop up from 7am to 7pm on Friday June 14.

  Just been there at almost 3pm. The line is snaking round like 9am and 2pm. Also I realized the poorest people in straya isn't the homeless. It is uni students… It makes absolutely no economical sense to queue 2 hours or so for an item valued at $19.90. Will see if the queue ease off a bit later but I don't think so.

    Probably easier to wait 2 hours than work uber/deliveroo for 2 hours

    You don't even get the item, you still need to get to a Uniqlo to redeem it!!!

    What if they don't have your size/are sold out! That would suck massively…

        No variation of any kind unless the item is faulty (stated on the back of the polaroid shot). So no if they have incomplete size you must grab the wrong size by 17th and deal with it haha.

  They’ll be taking the last person at 5pm, for a two hr queue. Last photo taken at 7pm. Can always redeem over the weekend. City store only.

  I’m in line waited 10min moved 1/4 of the line should be one hour wait, staff said 3hours, think they just want to make people leave..
