Stanley Rogers Albany 50pc Cutlery Set $69 with Code ($79 without) + $8.99 Delivery @ Spotlight

SPAWELCOM

I was looking for a cutlery set and found one with steak knives!

The contents are as follows:

10 Dinner Knives
10 Dinner Forks
10 Dessert Spoons
10 Teaspoons
10 Steak Knives
Gift box

"Modern, timeless design to suit any table. High quality stainless steel with mirror finish. 25 year guarantee."

I believe regular retail is about $119.95 but they are saying it "was $269.99" which I highly doubt. Catch has it for $119.95.
Don't forget to use the code or you can get free delivery with eBay plus but it's $79 ($8.99 delivery with no eBay plus).

I was looking at this set a while ago, but apparently there's a real corrosion problem with the "stainless" steel. This isn't first hand experience, but would pay to read the reviews floating around… When 20 out of 40 reviews say there's smoke, there's probably fire

    • Likely because this set says its "high quality stainless steel" rather than 18/10 stainless steel. I wouldn't be buying this set.

  • PRIORITY10 doesn't work… Am I doing something wrong? (plus member)

Sorry didn't realise there was a minimum spend ($120)! I took it out

  • There are no soup spoons.

  • Why do they include the "Bistro" steak knives in these sets when there are "Albany" steak knives available)? Based on the prices at the Stanley Rogers website they aren't even cheaper to make. Stanley Rogers cutlery sets are regularly on sale at Harris Scarfe. I'd wait a week or two and grab a set that includes soup spoons (and dessert forks and dessert knives) (they get cheaper than they are at the mo') and get the matching steak knives separately (which are on sale now).

I've had these for several years and I haven't had any issues with corrosion. YMMV.
