Remember Bose QC35 two years ago when 650 units sold out in 3 minutes?! Each deal will have different start times across Sat & Sun. I will update the post with the unique codes later down the track. There's heaps more products that I'm not at liberty to divulge at this stage. All I can say is stay tuned. Fun kicks off Saturday at 10am AEST. And please remember, this sale is open only to eBay Plus members. Enjoy :)

news.com.au article mentions 15% off eBay Plus for Aussie retailers. Not stackable with these deals, but added to title. More to come.

      • I had the QC35s for a couple of years then finally bought the mrs the Sonys and I am definitely jealous. If I was to buy either today I would go the Sony.

      • Agree with this. People I talk to on the phone constantly moan about not being able to hear me when I'm using my Sonys. Can't fault the ANC and sound though. Care little for the mic so it's not a huge downer for me.

  • Regarding eBay plus, I have already used a free trial previously, can I make a new eBay account and take advantage of another free trial for this sale?? The WH-1000XM3's are a must-get at that price.

Just did it, it works! Now just to make sure I'm there at 10am Saturday because those will be gone in no time.

    • really? with just different email? what about name, address, paypal?

      • +1

Yep, just different email - same name and address. First thing I did after creating new ebay account was sign up to the ebay plus free trial then cancelling it immediately using debit card rather than paypal because I feared they might be linked. It's all good now though, trial valid until July 20.

  • Any idea if the Breville BES870 is specific colour?

    • +10

It's scientifically proven that red makes your coffee faster.

    • Usually silver/steel

sony is a wireless noise cancelling. i heard the best headphones are wired, not noise cancelling, no flashy gimmicks. i certainly dont want a wireless because of battery. is there a good wired one for massively discounted price? budget is up to $500.

    • Not part of the eBay sale, but addicted to audio has some decent deals on in ears at the moment. Westone w40 falls in your budget.

If you're looking for cans, these might be good I haven't listed myself but if you're in a major city A2A has stores in most of them https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/collections/sale/products/ult…

Not the cheapest price ever, but since A2A left eBay it's the cheapest around.

      See Marge's comments here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/451671

      • Signature DJ seems to be the most ‘fun’ sounding of them all, apparently they all sound a bit ‘fun’ which is odd for monitoring headphones, but good for most consumers. They all have a ‘bright’ sound which can be too harsh for some, but harshness gets softer with use.
Also S-Logic is hit-or-miss for people so I recommend trying them in-store if you can.
(A2A have stores in Sydney, Melbourne & Perth)

        • they all sound a bit ‘fun’ which is odd for monitoring headphones, but good for most consumers. They all have a ‘bright’ sound which can be too harsh for some, but harshness gets softer with use.

Aside from your review sounding a bit like Dave Clark's infamous write-up of Pear's Anjou speaker cables, I believe that becoming desensitized to high frequencies played at loud volumes over a period of extended use time is also commonly known as hearing loss.

          • @Pantagonist: Perhaps the word I should have used the word ‘coloured’ instead of fun. Usually monitoring headphones are neutral sounding. The Ultrasone’s are notoriously known for being bright - due to their titanium coated drivers (same deal as titanium dome tweeters).
Yes it is just an opinion and sound is subjective.

I think with hearing loss you are talking about extremes, and depending on the dBA it can take seconds or hours.

    • I recommend thenitpicker for thorough and in-depth reviews.

If I had your budget and were into Headphones, I would be looking at finding the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro on sale.
Cheapest I could find currently is $735-$743 Delivered at Amazon AU after 7-8% cashback (either Cashrewards or Shopback).

Edit: oh and if you are serious about these headphones you will likely need a good DAC/Amp to go with them.

    • I was sceptical tol, but now BT convert. XM3s sound excellent and the 40 hour battery means I only charge it every few weeks. Noise cancelling is something you definitely appreciate vs passive, closed back isolation. No more untangling too.

      • They are great NC headphones, but as far as sound goes, they aren't that great. Also one of only a few that are still limited to only one active connection.

    • +2

sony is a wireless noise cancelling. i heard the best headphones are wired, not noise cancelling, no flashy gimmicks. i certainly dont want a wireless because of battery.

Audio wise, yes. They also tend to be open backed which means you hear all the noise around you.

Wireless ANC is for when you're out in public (trains, flying, or in the city). Open back is for when you're in a quiet environment.

If you're serious about audio, you want at least one of each.

is there a good wired one for massively discounted price? budget is up to $500.

$500 is plenty. But massively discounted price, I dunno.

Massdrop often runs Sennheiser 6xx which is equivalent to HD650, for about $200 USD plus delivery, sometimes less. I don't know when the next drop is, but this is a pretty good price.

      • -3

im thinking about a $1200 premium dropping down to $500. somebody posted a 1.2k sony at 75% off to $300 something, snatched up in minutes. im a musicphile so want the best.

        • That's going to be tough to achieve if I'm being honest.

It would take a clearance for that kind of pricing, or damaged box.

        • lol, those Sonys (Z7m2) were a pricing error. No way you’ll get a bargain like that, unless you’re extremely lucky, and get in on a pricing error before everyone else!

I’d be surprised if more than 1 or 2 people (if any!) actually had that pricing error honoured.

          • +4

@caprimulgus: The good news for him is, there's diminishing returns between a $1200 pair of headphones and a $500 pair. The $500 will be much better value per dollar in terms of audio quality.

A2A sells those Sonys for $549, RRP $649. They are not $1200 headphones.

        • +1

Yeah that was 50% off compounded twice through error. You won't see that again and I never read that anyone had theirs shipped.

        • +6

im a musicphile so want the best.

The fact you said 'musicphile,' I kinda doubt it.

    • +2

i heard the best headphones are wired, not noise cancelling

      Not when you're on plane.

    • You can use the Sony in wired mode, it has a 3.5mm plug under the right earcup and there's a 3.5mm cable included in the box. The wired connection has noise cancelling and everything when the headphones are on, but it can also be used passively (like any other set of headphones) if you want to or you run out of battery.

    • If you are just starting out and intending to use the headphones with your smart-phone or Digital Audio Player.
I would suggest the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (32 ohm model), currently going for around $195 Delivered at many places.
According to reviewers: best bang-for buck & best closed back headphones.

The DT 770 Pro comes in 32 ohm / 80 ohm / 250 ohm models. Make sure you get the 32 ohm model for best sound from portable device.

I should have bought more 10% of gift cards… :(

    "Silver Bullet Attitude Straightener"

Intriguing! I know of a few people who need their attitudes straightened

  • Great prices.hopefully can score a few bargains.

  • +5

I see people buying Plus for this and then not getting in before quantity runs out.

    • +3

and then it will be the last good plus deal until next year

    • SO is it XM3s from any of the ebay-plus tagged stores? sorry new to these deals, is that how it works?

  • +2

Sony WH-1000XM3 $289 - From Sat 10am pretty good price.

  • +3

Watch the items run out of stock within a seconds of the vouchers becoming active, while eBay laughs to the bank with the cash made from new eBay plus subscriptions

  • Is it worth waiting to see if there will be any site-wide coupons for this weekend? I have an overseas item in my cart…. not sure whether to snap it up or wait (it's obvs not a plus item, but I am a plus member).

  • +3

Lowest XM3 price without having to have access to restricted websites, worrying about cashback, AMEX rebates or Gift Card Discounts. Already brought 2 pairs a couple of months ago (from Sony Kiosk with Amazon Price Match + AMEX Rebate + TRS Refund) and can highly recommend. Good luck everyone!

    • Are they comfortable after many hours? Do your ears get hot?

I have XM2 and the ear cups are not all that spacious. They're a bit small, so heat buildup becomes a problem after a while.

      • My ears can get hot if i’m walking or jogging for a while but sitting still on a plane I can keep them on for hours with no discomfort.

      • The ear cups feels a little larger and tinge roomier than XM2. Loved the textured look of the 'skin' on the touch control area of the XM2 though, as opposed to the smooth ones on XM3.

on XM3, my ears does get a little warm after 3 hours+, very slightly sweaty too, but it is not in anyway unbearable.

Only had to then take XM3 off to wipe away the moisture from the ear cups and it feels comfortable to wear again.

        • I actually get the same experience with the QC35 when I wear it outdoors. Indoors meanwhile, doesn't seem to have this issue

      • The most comfortable anc headphones I've ever worn. I do 2 x 3 hours sessions each day at work. Also used qc25 and parroit zik in the past.
I can't see anyone being disappointed with these, unless they're expecting audiophile sound.

        • Don't you mean mudicphile?

  • +6

I guess Amazon will be ready to match the price.

    • +1

I hope so, because I don't trust these "Aussie sellers" for decent after sales service.

    • Please god

    • +1

I don't think Amazon will price-match eBay deals

      • I never found Amazon particularly price competitive, prices were decent but not the cheapest. From what I can see its more about the convenience and their 1-2day prime shipping that appeals to most. Around here their range is so lacklustre and shipping times pretty ordinary I wonder why people even bother.

  • Silver Bullet straightners are fantastic have had mine for about 10 years

    • Wish I could buy it, lost all me hair in 10 years ;-(

  • Thanks TA, lovely bargains :) Can't wait to load up some money on these bargains xD

  • I got so hyped, i copied the code already not realising it’s a meh….

  • Anyone see any good deals on a knife set? Global knives etc.

  • heard that xm3 is strong in noise cancellation but not strongest in sound quality. is that true?
if so, whats the best one in terms of sound quality for this price range?

    • I own both xm3 and Bose QC35 ii, I reckon the quality on xm3 is comparable to Bose. Xm3 has “smarter” feature as in adaptive noise cancellation. So it detects your environment for optimal noise cancellation which I reckon it’s pretty neat.

    • heard that xm3 is strong in noise cancellation but not strongest in sound quality. is that true?

Yes. The two don't normally go hand in hand. High end headphones are always wired and won't have ANC.

Even the very best BT codecs cannot compete with a few copper wires.

if so, whats the best one in terms of sound quality for this price range?

If you need wireless and ANC, it's either this or Senn PXC-550 ($298 at Amazon AU).

    • Sound quality is fine, just a little bit bass heavy. If you like a really flat, accurate sound then the XM3s aren't for you, but if you don't mind a little bit of extra bass they're great.

  • Im here for Dyson cordless vaccuum cleaner deals :|

    • +2

Hi here for Dyson cordless vaccuum cleaner deals, I'm iforgotmysocks.

      • Thats incomplete without :|

        • I thought that was your last name and were already to the casual acquaintance level :|

    • +2

Personal experience - once the hype of convenience goes away (2 weeks) you end regretting not buying a good brand corded vacuum.

Ideally I want to get a good vacuum, and retire the Dyson to the car - but it's (profanity) useless for that too.

Shitty quality plastic, which keeps the weight down, but they use the plastic for everything - including the parts you need to twist to open, which quickly deform.

Fine vacuum for tiles or wood, but trash for carpet and car.

  • Seems like a good price for the Breville.

  • letsgo

  • +2

XM4 will probably be out in September-October

  • So sad that I have to work SAT and sun definitely lose hope of getting them before they run out.

  • I recently got a brand new pair of Sony XM3s for $250. My friend bought it from somewhere for me. I wish he would tell me where, so I could post the deal. I think it had something to do with the Sony store and maybe PS4?

Anyway, I'm wearing them now and the ANC is really good. Our AC is really loud at full blast but I can't hear a thing with these on.

    • +5

He got them from Sony X. He bought them for $225, so he ripped you off $25! lol :P

      • I'VE BEEN SCAMMED. I think it's time to cut all ties with this so called 'friend'… Thanks for letting me know, so I can use the info against him later haha.

In all seriousness, I still think it's a huge bargain for me since I was about to buy them for $310. Its a win-win situation I guess.

  • There will be new models for Sony and Bose in July. Better wait, if you want the latest and greatest.

    • 7% improvement at 240% cost…

  • -6

    The BES870 is shit…

But if you think the Toyota Camry is a great car you'll love it!

It will get you from an Aldi bean to a cup that is slightly better than McCafe.

If you definitely want brand new it's worth that price all day! Just keep in mind it's thermoblock so struggles to crank out cups. Perfect for a house though.

Great entry point if you just want something to cut your teeth on but you'll soon be hitting the upgrade button if you are anything like me

    • +3

Perfect for a house? Are most people on here running coffee shops? :P

      • -3

As opposed to a small office of say 10 people or so. Where everyone wants a cup for the meeting and you wonder why shit goes sour after the 3rd cup…

Not to mention a decent machine like the EM7000 or the dual boiler will smoke this like you wouldn't believe.

That being said, I think half the issue is the grinder on this is rather low quality.

Will get you more than a half decent cup if you know how to drive it

Great value for money but if you are searching for more you'll soon hanker to upgrade but if you are the kind who just want cheaper/better than a pod this is it

        • You're forgetting target audience. You might be a coffee gatekeeper. Doesn't mean others here are.

    • +3

With decent beans it pulls a better shot than half the cafes out there who over extract a single watery shot into over heated milk. The thermoblock is slow for any more than two cups at a time. Considering the grinder is included its a bloody good price

      • +1

Agreed I had the infuser for 4 years and only recently got everything down well enough to consider investing in a BDB. I only made 4-6 coffees a week though.
        It's still running fine btw.

The shots kept getting better and were quickly better than most cafes, especially as I used fresh mannabeans.

Besides, a Camry would surely be a nespresso machine. This would be at least a Toyota 86 with the Oracle being a golf r(expensive, good at everything, no skill needed)

    • +3

LOL coffee snobs, almost as bad as Audiophiles ;)

      • +2

        I'm both… Explains why I live on my own I guess…. Lol

      • Both of us will also keep you up all night :)

      • Musicphiles

    • A poor craftsman blames his tools.

      • Eh? It was still a great cup! Wasn't saying it was shit at all, quite the opposite. But with a few more bikkies you can get even better.

        • Your first line was that it's shit haha

          • @Circly: Haha what?

It's shit compared to say a BES920. But if you are comparing it to say a Kmart espresso machine it'll smoke it all day.

It gets your beans into the cup. Some of us just want 'more'.

While I do like high end equipment I just sit and wait until it's at the right price then pounce.

            • @kronicmacstigator:

              The BES870 is shit…

Without the attitude you could've made a somewhat unbiased-looking comment, but you got lots of negs instead.

              Well, still useful.

  • Damn I was looking everywhere for cheap sony wh-1000xm3's a few days ago. Settled at $375. However needed for a present by weekend. This price would have been much better!

    • +2

Buy one at discounted price and return using the more expensive invoice.

      • +1

I did buy this with eBay plus. Guess I can try the free returns with no questions and rebuy at cheaper price. Even the ebay retailer I bought it off dropped $60 off the price today…

    • Addicted to Audio had them for $316 last Thursday, you must have not seen it or just missed out.

      • I bought it Tuesday this week. Didn't see the $316. :(

So all aussie stores 15% ?? And is there a limit?

    • Limit could kill this like so many other eBay sales. Hopefully it's uncapped
