PLUS99

Here's the full list of products available in the first slot of 10am Saturday in eBay's Plus weekend sales. These will go fast. Also with all the talk of poor value for money with eBay Plus membership, consider you can easily pay off your subscription with one of these purchases. In my opinion, great value for money. • And so it begins. Cheers TA

    • The end of my available credit…. Shut up and take my money!

Very keen on that V11 TA - excited to see what else comes up

      • GL .

V11 selling like hot cakes, 800 sold and still in stock. Dammit I guess I'll have to buy one..

    • +3

      And so it begins.

      The price jacking ?

      • +7

No the entitled bitching when these reach their sales limit.

        "never use ebay again"

        • +1

You mean how they advertised deals, allow you to click on “buy now” then at the checkout you get “The seller doesn't have that many left” message

          • @[Deactivated]: Yes that always happens when the stock is almost sold out.

Otherwise smarties just click and add to cart, then add more to cart, while others are paying for one item at a time.

Get in early buy the one you want then go back and buy other items next.

            • @RockyRaccoon: No, it had "over 10 items left" on the item

I clicked *buy now", it went to the checkout, i pasted in the code, clicked pay, and they're outta stock. In the space of a 1-2 secs.

              • @[Deactivated]: Well this post had 13977 clicks on it

So you could easily have 10 people buying at the same time.

I got 3 99c items. Now one wouldn't and wasnt that popular (nappy pants for 99c) but hey compared to retail it was cheap and was available so why not. The nephews do use them when they stay over.

BTW what sort of connection do you have. That could also make the difference. FTTP NBN would probably be more successful than ADSL1

                • +1

@RockyRaccoon: I'm not worried, or stressed, it was just slightly annoying that's all. Obviously others were quicker.

It was just a response to your

No the entitled bitching when these reach their sales limit

I don't agree with the way ebay works, if they say they have stock & I click buy now (not add to cart), they should honour it or if they don't have stock they shouldn't advertise they do.

If I take a ski jacket at Aldi to the checkout, they don't take it off me and say "sorry we're all out of that item".

It tis what it tis. IMHO I'm entitled to bitch ;-)

Out of stock immediately upon loading at 10:00 am usual ebay horseshit bait and switch.

      • +4

Check the eBay sales quantities. Plenty got what they were after (read comments lower down).

      • Maybe it should be moved to the unobtainable section :-)

        • I think the quantities were reasonable. I got 3 99 cents items via ebay app, that too while on a treadmill walking. Usually I wouldn't get any from such sales.

      • So many people got the 99c specials. I’m usually slow at this kind of thing and snagged 4 items.

        • 3 x .99c items. Soda stream / pans / Pencils.

          • @Nalar: likewise 3X.99c items but a little too slow on the Soda Stream

        • I got 4 99cent items even though I took 2 minutes to find the page that listed them (I first thought I had to find the items using the search box). I got the case of beer at 3pm (there were 1000 available though, and given the need to be quick, I didn't read that it was short dated. Doesn't affect me, but I feel it was a bit deceptive). At around 3:45pm I got the R2D2 robot for a friend (800 were available total).

The site didn't go down. They were transparent about how much stock was available. A well run promo I think. Unfortunately, there's always going to be people that miss out.

  • +4

I'm a tad confused with the above items. These items will be specific listings? Or it's a free for all to find which specific listing the cheap items are?

  • Cheers TA :)

    Code not working

          Neither AVAILABLE.AT.10AM or AVAILABLE.AT.10AM.AEST works. 😢

Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again.

May as well tag me on every other store I post on a daily basis. This has been done to death, and I certainly don't owe you an explanation. If you're not happy, there's a report button at the bottom of this comment.

      • I seem to have hit a nerve but thanks for taking the time to reply. Judging on the votes for these comments it's obviously quite a divisive subject.

May as well tag me on every other store I post on a daily basis

As Ebay no longer uses cashback in Australia this is separate to my original question but if they're posts for companies that you're dealing with as part of your employment or otherwise associated then that would make sense to me. As far as I understand it (happy to be educated here) cashback is essentially marketing and anyone employed by a cashback company would be (for want of a better term) a third party marketer for any of their clients.

This has been done to death, and I certainly don't owe you an explanation

Correct, you don't owe me a thing but maybe someone a little less emotionally involved may be able to shed some light on this for me.

        Statements like

There's heaps more products that I'm not at liberty to divulge at this stage. All I can say is stay tuned. Fun kicks off Saturday at 10am AEST.

make plebs like me think Ebay is trying to generate interest in an upcoming sale by releasing information to a select few in order to disseminate on their behalf. To me, this seems like someone who is associated with the business.

So if this has been done to death, could someone please give me a link to where my question has already been answered?

        • -4

If you're not happy, there's a report button at the bottom of this comment.

    • Obviously this is sensitive subject for the OP but if there's anyone else out there who could copy/paste a link to where this has been done to death (and has a clear resolution) it would be appreciated.

    • +13

AFP would be a better bet but you need to report it in person.

      • The closest office is in the CBD, I suppose I will go in the morning. These are going to be some expensive Crayola Pencils but better than paying RRP.

Try with using underscore instead, it worked for a friend.

Really a $1 toothbrush? No stigma?

    • -1

Scratch that, really a $1 trek power bank worth $48 at JB?

  • +4

How many of the 99 cent items can I buy? I mean, is there an enforced limit?

    • +1

AFAIK you can only buy 1 item per user per code / transaction - ie: only 1 thing out of the entire list of items above - is that right TA?

      • Hmm, ok. I wanted to but a few of the bonds. If you can only get one, it's not even really worth the effort.

        • +3

you can turn then inside out, then front to back, so 1 pair of trunks are goof for 4 days.

    • +1

      From the eBay T&C:

For each person, there is a limit of 4 transactions per redemption code. One item can be purchased per transaction.

  • When the time comes where do we find the unique codes for each item?

  • +1

Is that the Arlo Pro v1 or v2?

    • I think its Arlo pro v1 (720p)

    • NETGEAR VMS4330 Arlo Pro HD System with 3 HD Cameras

Based on this information, they are Pro v1.

    • v1 most likely

      • thanks everyone

  • How do you know the items are .99 ?

  • So I should sign up for an eBay plus now ?

    • +1

      Use the trial

      • +1

        Cancel right away?

  • Each item needs a check out individually?

  • Need to sleep in to avoid spending….

  • Thanks TA. Any chances of getting some cashback on ebay?

    • -2

it is that thing, you know that thing.

  • +2

Lol only 15% should be 20%

  • +4

This is embarrassing for eBay, IMO. Seriously?

  • +9

Most of this is junk :/

  • +2

So the Batch X Sangiovese is $30 from Grays…

    https://www.grayswine.com.au/retail/BXS16-6/wine/batch-x-san…

or $35 here on ebay plus promo…

    Get in quick!

    • Your link and price doesn't include $10 shipping charge ($20 to rural areas). eBay deal is from Grays too, but shipping is free. So that's a saving of between $5-$15 which is not inconsequential.

      • Wallet taking a hit today :}

      • but shipping is free.

Doesn't eBay Plus cost $49 for people who've already used their free trial?

        • You only have one ebay account? Amateur move. You gotta have at least 15 of them.

          • +1

            @xoom:

3.4 There is a maximum of one free 30-day trial of eBay Plus per eBay member. You may not use or create another eBay account in order to take advantage of the free 30-day trial more than once.

            https://pages2.ebay.com.au/plus/terms-and-conditions

            • @Pantagonist: You know people take that as "challenge accepted" by some right?

How else did we find out that you get banned if you reach a certain number of accounts created on ebay?

              • +3

@xoom: That's fine and people can do as they like. It's also cheaper to steal stuff from Woolworths than use discounted gift cards but you don't see such deals posted here.

My point was that postage with eBay Plus is not "free" unless you have an unused trial, pay $49 for a membership or violate the terms & conditions of the service.

    • Why is it worthless?
