    What do you normally do?

    • Not this, clearly.

      Overpriced for what they are

      You need 3mp or better

      1080p is junk

Cameras are about $120 each from China

      • Do you ever worry about the Chinese cameras having backdoors or being part of a DDOS network ready to attack someone? I've got a few and wonder if it'd be worthwhile replacing them?

    • doesn't share deals

$160 for this one is pretty good.
I paid $180 for the same last year
    https://www.swann.com/au/swdvk-444804bv

    • $160!? That's great value for a basic system. You'll want to add a hard drive though.
Covering street, front & back doors, driveway is useful.

Picture is surprisingly good by day, less so by night. Well ahead of the old SD analog cameras.

The Swann DVRs are compatible with the standard cheap 1080P BNC cameras on eBay etc for around $30, but have the added feature of the PIR sensor.

For a small business, the $560 PoE system would be perfect.

I'm thinking of installing an 8-camera indoor system, so the next time I lose my keys or glasses, I can track them down.

  • Im very keen on this one;

    https://www.swann.com/au/swdvk-845808v

With the 60% off, it comes down to $291.98 with free shipping?

Any comments or reviews about this one. Please share

    • I got the 4-camera version of this. The passive infrared detection helps cut down on false activation. 1TB HDD will only give a couple of days storage if you have all 8 cameras recording 24/7

    • What do you want to know? The software is decent.
The cameras are all wide angle though. It is a shame they do not mix in some narrower ones for more detail at a distance.

      • Not sure what i want. Only started looking last week. Hopped onto JB and this one had 140 reviews with an average of 4.7 out of 5 stars. I do like the one "Giggidy" posted below - https://www.swann.com/au/sonvk-875804d2b

Just want to make sure i am getting something that is good, good in video, good in recording, good in reliability, good in all weather conditions, good in "Security"

        • Define good :) They all seem to be reliable.
I've no complaints from the cheaper cameras, but be aware that good night vision costs a lot more.

        • I was thinking of buying this NVR version but end up getting 8 ch DVR with 8 cameras 4x with spot lights and siren in it
          https://www.swann.com/au/swdvk-85mp4d4fb

    • From $729 down to $291. Why? Is it not selling well enough?
Seems like a good product with good reviews tho.

6x 5MP cameras(POE) and a 2TB NVR for $560. Pretty good price for the hardware. Thanks!

Thanks op. Purchased the one for $160. I also bought one last year for $180. These are great for the money. Work well with app and cloud which is bonus.

  • DVR or NVR which one is better …?

  • Hi All,

Does anyone know whats the main difference between https://www.swann.com/au/swdvk-845808# and https://www.swann.com/au/swdvk-845808v the latter is cheaper by $70 but appears to have a newer DVR (4580 vs 4575) the cameras are the same though.

    Cheers

    • The first one is out of stock so would assume it's just been superseded by the latter.

    • The 4575 has Google home support from the looks of it

  • Bought thanks

  • Shame this code doesn’t work on the 4K systems. Has anyone had any experience with the Swann 5mp nvr systems. Is the 6 camera nvr system worth $559.60 after discount? SONVK-875804D2B

    • You can there are two 4k system as well

      • Yeah sorry your right, however they are the most expensive systems and only one is the nvr 4K system, even with discount it’s over 1k and out of my price range.

  • I have bought one of these systems …. what length of cable can i use?

    • Each camera comes with a 30 m cable. You can get extension cables from Bunnings or Jaycar if you need more.

      • Looks like only 18mtr cable unless i'm missing something, as am looking at the same system/s.

        Cat5e Ethernet Cable x 9 (60ft/18m x 8 & 3ft/1m x 1)
        BNC Cables 60ft / 18m x 8

        • Sorry, 18m leads supplied in the kit is correct.
I remembered 30m incorrectly. Those are the ones you can buy at Bunnings:
          https://www.bunnings.com.au/swann-30m-bnc-security-extension…

        • Can i use cat5e cable for these cameras ? Or it has to be BNC cable ?

          • @Cheappy: Some systems are "DVR", which are the BNC cable type. These tend to be the lower end systems
Some systems are "NVR", which are Power over Ethernet (POE) using CAT 5e cable or better, and are the higher end systems.

  • The one at the top is the pick: SWNVK-885808.

    • Only a cool grand

  • Hi mate, do you mind to share the code again if you have another one. Thanks
