expired NetGear Arlo Pro 2 with 3 Cameras $479 Delivered @ Amazon AU

760

Seems like Amazon was matching the Ebay plus deal. Unsure if the ebay plus was the version 1 or not but $479 for the pro 2 with 3 cameras is a insane deal. Pretty sure Amazon matched the wrong product here.

Also don’t forget cashback 4.5%

The ebay deal was just the arlo pro wasn't it? Getting the pro 2 with 3 cameras for this price is a great deal.

  •

    super!

  •

    Bought. Thanks OP.

Bought, dont know why I bought as I already have arlo pro 1.

Thanks for posting - the ebay sale is laid out really poorly - couldn't find their listing for this price and I'm usually a hawk with this stuff. Grabbed from Amazon instead - you're a legend OP. Yet another purchase on Amazon this week… sheesh!

  •

    Very good deal.

It's cheaper than buying 3 extra cameras

  •

    Wow that was fast

  •

Finished. Hope they honour those who got in :)

    •

No reason for them not to - they dropped the price for a period of time and they likely don't sell any prior model. I don't think there will be an issue. As soon as they realised ebay was out of stock on its deal they bumped the price back up. They got traffic during an ebay sale - goal achieved.

  •

Looks like the price is fixed… or I am doing something wrong.

  •

I'm having no luck.had it and they took it out of my cart.

  •

EBay sale sux go go Amazon :)

  •

Damn it. Been waiting for it to go on sale after the announcement of the 4K model

Dam that's the thing I want most.

  •

    Gone :(

  •

    Missed :(
It was in my cart, then disappeared as I was updating my delivery address.

  •

How likely was this a price error they wont honour? Looks like they got the versions mixed up to match ebay

Doesnt matter if you're impulse buying, still a win! price error credits or if you've applied gift cards you get your money back on your credit card!

  •

    omg i missed out!

far out and i went with TGG 20% off got meself the 2 cam pro2 deal and that was still $100 more than this!

    RIP. RIP. RIP. lol

Mine was shipped out this morning, and arriving by 8pm tomorrow.

      •

They're quick - mine hasn't shipped yet but also showing as arriving by tomorrow 8pm :)

Anyone have these already and know much about external mounting? There seem to be separate brackets available (purchase separately) for mounting outdoors - I would have thought that's where these are mostly used or do people largely buy them for indoor use?

Another question - do the external mounts secure the cameras okay from theft?

Finally, I gather you'd ideally have the central 'hub' a little concealed so any crooks don't lob in and unplug it - though by that time they've already been caught on camera I guess.

Looking forward to playing with these - ripper price.

I looked at some reviews/video after making the purchasing.

They come with magnetic dome mounts which attracts to the back of the camera (more of a temporary and not a permanent solution). You can purchase genuine or third party outdoor mount for a long-term solution. (Appears to be a standard camera tripod mount hole)

Another question - do the external mounts secure the cameras okay from theft?

A review did mention adding superglue/loctite to the camera mount screw for a permanent solution. If you place it high enough, they can't reach anyways.

You can hook it up to your modem, which will back up images/video to their cloud for 7 days (more if you pay subscription service). Alternately you can plug in an External Hard Drive to the Hub and have it record everything on there, if prefer the hub to be hidden. (Note that the hub does have an alarm, which might not be heard if hidden).

@RichardL: Thanks mate - I'd seen those mounts and wondered how they're supposed to secure the units - super glue! Jeepers but fair enough.

I think the cloud recording is sufficient - based on activity - but I probably will use the USB drive backup option as well - you can't record solely to USB and not the cloud but you can do both. The manual says:

"If you connect a USB storage device, the camera records to both the cloud and the
USB storage device for motion-triggered and audio-triggered recordings."

If you're on the free plan, it gives you seven-days of recording in the cloud. If you're away on holiday you may require more than this and the USB backup can therefore be worthwhile having.

Bugger. Wife and I were only talking about getting these the other day.

I was lucky to get this at around $350 when officeworks price matched it few months ago

  •

Oh man, i'm devastated. I needed the three extra cameras! that's super cheap.

  •

not as good but you can still get the [Arlo Pro - 2 Camera System for $499] at amazon, then 10% price beat it at bunnings come to around $450

  •

Great deal if you break it down for Arlo Pro 2. $479 for Base + 3 cameras. Then add an extra camera ($180-$250) which makes it cheaper than the $735 (with cashback) for the Base + 4 camera deal.

    Mine just shipped!

update: contacted live chat no a good news :-(
"I've checked the item on our website and confirmed that the item availability is listed as "Temporarily out of stock". Please allow me to resolve the issue right away.
In order to resolve this, I've personally contacted the Fulfillment Center and got to know that we were scheduled to receive the stock from the manufacturer, but we have not received yet.
Hence, they have already contacted a different supplier to obtain this item for you. I can assure you that we are working hard to obtain this item for you and we will ship it as soon as we are able to obtain it.
I want to make sure your order gets to you faster once we receive supplies/stock. So, I've upgraded the shipping method of your order to Priority Shipping, at no extra cost."

  •

Anyone receive it yet? So jelly

  •

Anyone had time to get their kit up and running? Mine is still boxed as doing some renos. Initial impressions welcome if you have a moment to report back :)

  •

Anyone gotten theirs up and running? I can't get any of my camera to sync to the base station. It just blinks blue then times out and blinks orange rapidly, all while the base station blinks green on the 3rd led
