Not in 14,000,605 possibilities did this ever cost $1499.

I have this dryer, I paid around the same price from memory (and also from appliances online). I've had it since late last year, and it works fine. I put a measuring device on it, and it pulls a tad under 750W max, and when it's warmed up enough it sits around 250-300W. It has a big drum, waaay bigger than my 8kg washing machine.

The only thing I don't like about it is the reverse tumbling function. It only goes into reverse maybe every 15 minutes, for around 10 seconds. It's enough to untangle clothes but if you are drying sheets, regularly check and pull them apart or they end up in a tight ball and won't dry properly.

Clothes & towels are no issue, just keep an eye on sheets :) Most dryers are like that though anyway!

    • Great info! How does that power use compare to the > $1000 Bosch and Samsung models?

      • this unit has 6-star energy rating, so it is not too far from what Bosch would consume.

        • Thanks!

        • Just a note for comparison, while a 6 star heat pump dryer is way better than a traditional tumble dryer. This dryer is at the lower end of efficiency for heat pump dryers. Miele has a 10 star rated machine in its line up. However it comes with a $2199 price tag.

    • Just tried it. The indicator light only has red colour? Strange cause I'd expect green if it works properly.

Also the water tank warms up and I can feel hot air in laundry room.

      • hows your experience with the essato dryer ? you happy with your purchase, I am looking to buy but currently at 619.

OK for now but I haven't really tried large loads yet.

Good price but my search on eBay shows $492.15 for ebay plus members using the code PLUSWKND.

  • out of interest, will appliances online take out of the box and put overhead on the wall (brackets already in place).

From the description on the appliances online website: "This 7kg heat pump dryer from Esatto features an impressive 6-star energy rating and 16 different drying programs to suit a variety of loads. The delay start feature helps you plan your drying cycles in advance for added lifestyle flexibility, and with the anti-crease function clothes come out wrinkle-free and ready to wear. Even drying is achieved by using low temperatures and reverse-tumble drying which minimises shrinkage and tangling. This dryer cannot be wall mounted but can be stacked on top of a compatible front load washing machine or simply placed on the floor, if you have the space."

Looks like the dryer can not be wall-mounted.

      • Any idea what a compatible front loader washing machine is? Wondering if I can stack this on my Samsung washer

        • +1

I bought this dryer last week and stacked on top of my SAMSUNG - WW85K6410QX ADDWASHâ„¢ 8 (Width (mm) 600, Depth (mm) 600) washing machine, used 'Appliance APL600 Washer/Dryer Mat - bought from Appliance online' in between, works great. You can chat with appliance online support and tell your Samsung washer's model, they will tell you whether they compatible.

No heat pump dryers should be wall mounted due to to their weight (typically at least 50kg)

    • thanks team
