TLDR
- Some reviews say the 256GB SSD is slow,
- the 15" model got hot which is comparabale with other laptops,
- there are critics and supporters of the RTX2060, great for rendering, good fps and no stutters
- keyboard/touchpad not the best, however gamers say they prefer their own USB/wifi keyboards anyway
- Some complain about the display and then say they don't use it anyway because they hook up dual 4K monitors
- good eGPU capacity via thunderbolt

Heavy! 3.14kg… I wonder how other 17" laptops compare.

Looks like pretty good specs for the price. Would want 16GB RAM, and would want a larger sole SSD without the mechanical hard-drive.

I wonder what the build quality is like. Have had trouble with Dell in the past.

    • Think my acer is heavier, but you don't buy 17" gaming laptops for their portability.
Mine barely moves, acting more as a PC nowdays.

  • Looks decent, good price. could use another 8GB of RAM, is the thinking still that 8 is enough for gaming alone?

  • Agreed, I'd replace the 256GB, and toss out the 2x4GB to add 2x8GB RAM. All RTX2060 reviews are tentative because it's a new release, but it does look pretty good atm.

  • Note: Westpac customers may be eligible for additional cashback by using a Westpac credit card at Dell. You can check your cashback offers as per the Westpac Extras deal (Targeted).

Possible Offers: Get $150 cashback when you spend $1,000+, or Get $120 cashback when you spend $1,200+ (ends 23 Jun 2019)

    • Hi 1bug, will this cashback also work when buying from the Dell Store on ebay and paying with a Westpac visa credit card?

      • No, because eBay uses PayPal as its merchant gateway for processing CC payments (the payment will be stamped "PAYPAL *<ebay store>").

I believe the item also has to be purchased at Dell Australia.

          Got it, thanks!

  • JB HiFi has this for $3299. The only difference I can tell is that their one has 16gb ram whilst this one has 8gb. Am I missing something? Why is there such a difference even in the base ($2,699.01) price?

    • It looks like this one has older gen processor lol, trying to ripoff, no law against skyrocketed prices, not everyone is as savvy as us
