First post, be gentle.
I've been eyeing this for a while, Computer Alliance has cut the base price of their ryzen 7 2700 several times over the last couple days, most recently $10 in the last hour or so, bringing this specific processor to what i believe is a historic low for AU when combined with the coupon.

Probably best to wait for the first price drops as well as reviews.

3rd gen Ryzen 8-core parts will be well north of $500 at release.
Honestly if you want something now, this is a great price.

Imo buy it.
3700x will be 470+ aud.

Yeah do not buy, wait

tempting but need to wait till 30XX gets released,

I would wait like others have said. Even if new gen gear is heaps more and over budgets the existing older gen gear will drop more to move old stock

Zen 2 6-core should start near this price during sales, and will provide superior multi-threaded performance at stock while having better gaming performance.
It's a welcome price drop as opposed to nothing, but it's not enough in the context of the launch in 2 weeks.

Yeah am waiting as well and this is the lowest price for this CPU. I am holding out for the Ryzen 5 3600 for my first build.

Good first post, but… It might be best to wait until 7/7 for the 3rd gen Ryzen to release.
