Is this like SmileDirectClub where it's all done at home and you don't have to go to an orthodontist? Would not advise…

    • Hi, SmileStyler here!

To clarify, SmileStyler isn’t another Direct to Consumer aligner company.
SmileStyler is only available through dentists or Orthodontists.
In Victoria we have well over 100 dental and orthodontic practices, and many more in NSW, QLD, SA, and WA!
SmileStyler understands that your pearly whites require great attention, especially during orthodontic treatment.
That’s why we have established our Phased Treatment, tracking your teeth as they move with the state of the art 3D imaging software!
Our goal is to make orthodontics easily accessible, reliable, and unnoticeable.
We are 100% Australian, based in Melbourne!

      • Oh so it's closer to Invisalign? That's good then.

  • Isn't it apt that as I read this, Bruno Mars and "Marry You" was just at the "no, no, no, no" part?

A company like this can't say they "treat" anything with teeth, that would be pretending to be a dentist. They're apparently able to get away with "may help with".

Quite honestly, an aligner style orthodontic plan that doesn't involve seeing a clinician to put on locators is not going to be able to help with severe crowding or even spacing. Neg for this reason.

    • Agreed. Wonder if they work for mild crowding?

      • For a start-up aligner company, they're unlikely to be using attachments (much like Invisalign and ClearCorrect did when they first started) - this limits the sorts of movements possible, meaning mild crowding would be unlikely to be resolved either. It's with years of experience and data have Invisalign been able to suggest with confidence the need to put an attachment where, and to reduce the size of a particular tooth by how much - even with this knowledge, many clinicians will be sending back treatment plan adjustments to do something other than what the initial treatment plan has suggested.

        • Hi, SmileStyler here!

Thank you for your feedback. The research on clear aligner therapy is readily available. And we have certainly done our homework on how to treat various degrees of malocclusion, and have the results to prove it.

We do employ the use of attachments, and above that, we are able to incorporate aesthetic treatments into our plan.

Our dental technicians, who have extensive dental backgrounds, create a treatment specifically to achieve the smile our patients have always wanted. This is then approved by the patient’s Dentist before any treatment is started. In addition the Dentist will take a 3D scan of the patient every 11-12 weeks to monitor patient progress.
Additionally, we have one of North America’s leading Invisalign Clear Aligner (edited) users on our Clinical Advisory Committee, who oversees our treatment protocols and any complex cases.

kwchaz, we are very proud of what we have developed and we’d love you to visit our head office and manufacturing facility in Melbourne to see for yourself.
Feel free to give us a call on 03 9099 4609, and we can discuss further.

Can’t wait to hear from you!

          • @SmileStyler: That does sound more acceptable. I'll revoke my negative vote - but still have my concerns regarding the limited offer you have available here, as it violates AHPRA guidelines.

I'll see if one of my colleagues will take you up on the offer, Melbourne isn't on my list of places I'm visiting any time soon.

          • @SmileStyler: Do you give a guarantee?

    • doesn't involve seeing a clinician to put on locators

According to their reply to me above, this is not the case.

      • +1

Right… then this is even worse. Health care clinicians aren't allowed to have these sorts of promotions because it puts pressure onto clients to choose and choose fast.

Promotions cannot be time or numbers limited, and certainly can't have language like 'to avoid missing out'.

        Still a negative.

        • Fair enough. I'm doing Invisalign atm myself, absolutely wouldn't trust an unknown brand just to save a buck.

  • $2100 off a total of how much?

    • Given it's up to 30%, total should be $7000, which is about what Invisalign goes for.
