U missed the point, this type of "product" needs monitor + antenna. Like Cri3 said - how is this a bargain?

And with the courtesy of our supah-fast national NBN, just stream it from our pc wwitv.com, a lot indian tv channels in there (regardless quality) ;P

Well one would assume that if you're purchasing a SATELLITE receiver card, one would already have a SATELLITE DISH. Jus' sayin'.

But besides his valid points, this card isn't exactly a bargain. Quick ebay search reveals a couple of cheaper options ($199), even with the same feature sets.

          I can't see ANY on ebay with a 16/32APSK Demodulator…have you got a link?

AFAIK this is the ONLY card capable of doing this…you can buy boxes that do it, but they're not this price! ;)

Be more worried about unsafe website than price which is in the ball park

  • I had know idea you needed a different card for Satellite TV.
If poster can give more information, that would be great.

How else are you going to watch indian tv? over the air? lol

  • Why would this be useful as you dont get digital channels?

  • Is there any use for this in Australia? A previous post by the same OP for a different card had a comment that there is little use for these in Australia.

Would be interesting if anyone has a setup of a DVB-S2, what channels are available.

Also, isnt this price $249.99 the usual price this is sold for by buydvd.net and therefore this is not a bargain.

Yeah, it's not so much a bargain per se, but it is a new release of a fairly well reviewed (testing phase) product at a fair price…maybe more suited to forums perhaps, but a fair price nonetheless! :)

I think you misread the comment in the other post…"little demand" =/= "little use"! ;)

  • I have a TBS 8921 DVB-S2 card which was $US84 inc shipping. It is a PCI card and I use it to receive the Dutch Satellite TV channel in my HTPC.

There are many Free to Air Satellite TV and Radio channels Check out Optus D2 or Optus C1 on http://www.lyngsat.com/ Many are in a foreign language, but there are some good English language News Channels (Al Jazeera , Press TV etc.) Also,if you are into religion there are a lot of channels to choose from as well.
