How? $5 small VM's are significantly cheaper than Maccas overseas…

      • Are you talking about a cheeseburger meal? Because I know I can't get a Big Mac meal for $5 at any Maccas near me.
Overseas where? And if they're expensive world wide, they're still expensive.

I can get a burger with the lot at the local fish and chip shop for $7 that will kick the butt off any Maccas burger.

        • Double beef n bacon is definitely not just a cheeseburger…

          • -1

@ATangk: It's also not one of their classic burgers. And I can't verify the price because their app is down while they increase erm I mean change their prices.

I have no idea why you want to defend the lowest grade of fast food becoming pricey.

            • +1

@syousef: Depending where you live, a burger with the lot can set me back $18 here…

              • @ATangk: Where the hell do you live??? Point Piper? There is always going to be a gourmet place that overcharges, but that's not going to be Maccas quality - not if it's going to be around long. What's the cheapest burger with the lot you can get near you?

                • @syousef: Working near a hippie sorta area. Not to say I cant find cheaper but the cheapest is still around $10 for a plain burger.

                  • @ATangk: So $40 for a family of 4 for the most plain basic burger that won't even fill them? Ok I'd be buying stuff from Coles/Woolies/Aldi and making my own at those prices.

                    • @syousef: Pretty much. At least (tap) water is free!

                • +1

@syousef: Or you could provide us with an alternative that doesn't cost $28 for a single burger, chips and drink (you seem to be comparing mc Donald's with restaurant standards).

$28 at Macca's gets you 4 classic burgers, 4 large chips, 4 medium drinks and 10 nuggets.

                  • @Frayin:

Or you could provide us with an alternative that doesn't cost $28 for a single burger, chips and drink

You mean like the fish and chip shop I referenced?

$28 at Macca's gets you 4 classic burgers, 4 large chips, 4 medium drinks and 10 nuggets.

You mean 4 small squashed burgers, 4 small fries and 4 drinks that cost next to nothing. The nuggests are nothing special either.

you seem to be comparing mc Donald's with restaurant standards

The local fish and chip shop is "restaurant standards"?? Did you bother to even read what I wrote??

If the burgers at Macdonalds weren't squashed unappetizing sloppily put together health hazards that won't fill you and the nuggets didn't taste like grizzle they'd be reasonable value.

And you are being very disingenuous referencing their very best value deal when they sell a large fries for over $4 and a has brown for over $2. Heaven forbid you don't go to Maccas as a group of 4.

                    • @syousef: I don't know about you, but if you're having that much of a hassle with a store, definitely try and speak with the restaurant manager. At my store, we take any/every customer complaint/issue seriously, resulting in an outcome that is both favourable for both parties.

  • hobos and ozb'ers rejoice!

  • What happened to the 24 McNuggets for $10?

    • +2

      Still there?

      • Can guarantee that it is still on the menu, with only one change… it's $9.95 ;)

        • Sorry monopoly is on now, gotta figure out most cost effective way to get those tickets!!!

Shame the mcfeast is on now too… such a waste. Also the student edge offer has been destroyed recently :(.

    McDonalds is for fat people.

    • +1

      Weak insults.

      • +2

Let the pretentious people in their ivory towers insult those who enjoy fast food. At the end of the day they're the ones who should be looking in the mirror.

      • -1

        Ronald, is that you?

    • and lazy and time poor and ignorant

    • does it count if i'm phat?

  • +1

$1 hammy is back, im gonna get fat as (profanity)

  • +1

I asked for the loose change menu over the counter today. The young lady said there's
    $2 Mcbites
    $1.50 Apple/Raspberry & custard pie
    $3.50 Chicken and cheese
I do believe some are ongoing deals, fyi my last trip to Maccas was over 2 months ago.

    • Thanks Sophie got the chicken and cheese

  • +1

    $1 hamburgers, yay!

  • +1

I can't seem to find thks menu on the app. Which section is it under?

  • The 4 for $4 has started but isn't showing up in the app.

    • Has anyone tried the kiosk?

    • Shows on app for me under "Beef" section

      • I just checked mine again and it isn't there.

        • QLD is excluded according to this comment

          • @Bubble Tea: That’s incorrect. Appears in my app for all 3 stores near me - North Lakes and Mango Hill QLD

    • I ordered it through the app yesterday afternoon.

      • Which store?

        • Brookvale NSW

          • @whichtyler: Ok. Yeah when I change stores it shows up. The stores around me don't have it.

  • +1

In mcdo fortitude valley, i have only hamburger for one dollar … :(

  • Can't seem to find it on any stores around me, Perth WA.

  • Does anyone know why the family box isnt on the app?

    • Good question. It's an annoying omission.

    • +1

It is strange, considering the thumbnail under the "to share" tab, is of a family box lol.

    • I assume they don't like to over promote the family box. After all, for the cost of the value box, you would typically only get two small burger meals for about the same money. So maybe they don't want to give people too much time to consider the pricing of the menu?

    • +2

Not quiet sure, but if you manage to get a 25% off offer in the app you can just order via a kiosk or register and scan the 25% off voucher

    • Lazy tax.

    • I think the Family Box was designed to remove time (and therefore cost) from the staff at the ordering window. The app already does that.

  • $1 Hamburgers makes it even more tasty!

  • +4

Colleague was excited for the 4 for $4 with prospect of the Sundae. Got the counter and the staff had no clue and would't swap out the pie for a sundae. Was almost sad to see how disappointed he was.

    • So the sundae isn't available with this deal? That is disappointing. Has anyone managed to get the deal with the sundae?

      • I managed to get it twice in the first two days. I believe it's definitely possible for the staff to enter a sundae as part of the deal but most are trained to refuse it as they're trained to not enter it.

  • -2

Slightly off topic but why can I never chose vanilla come via the app

    • Man downvotes are contagious - he clearly meant coke.

I believe it purely depends on your store - I can select vanilla from my local

  • Is the sundae available with the 4 for $4? Seen it mentioned that people have had success and others not, if it's supposed to be part of the deal, I'll feel more confident reinforcing my stance if I get denied lol.

    • +1

Definitely available at the registers. Order taker is able to select Hot Fudge / Strawberry / Caramel / Plain Small Sundae on the POS or the pies.

      • Great! Thanks a lot.

      • Didn't really help - all the ones I asked said they weren't allowed to make changes as the $4 for 4 deal promoted a pie, not sundae.

      • I'm not sure about you, but at my NSW store, it just showed up with keys for the type of pies that are available…

  • i can't see mcfeast anywhere anywhere in menu

    • +1

I found it by searching mcfeast

  • +2

Remember to remove the extras if you prefer a qrt pounder.

  • I’m not able to bring up the McFeast meal either.

  • +2

Bought $5 McFeast meal about an hour ago via app

    • Which section did you find it? I couldn't find it the cashier said it didn't exist

      • +5

Under McFeast. Go to Make it a meal and select small as it currently defaults to a medium meal.

        • +1

          nightelves knows what's going on!

        • Those sneaky bastards trying to hide the deal lol and the damn cashier.

          Thanks!

        • +1

Yep just did this. buggers! $6 for a mcfeast meal and a hamburger. Not too shabby!

      • +2

Search for mcfeast in the search bar at the top of the app

  • cool ;)

  • +1

First-time having McFeast. It was surprisingly very good. Not a fan of tomato so took that out, but the mixture of other ingredients made it delicious.

  • Major thanks got the McFeast deal today on the way home

  • +2

It looks like the McFeast deal is finished. I've checked two different stores that have always had it, and now they're ~$11 for the small meal :(.

    • +2

No longer available via the app either

  • Not sure at other places, but small McFeast meal previously didn't let me change the drink from the small soda/water. Today I was able to switch to bottled water or pay extra for mcCafe.
