Just received the camelcamelcamel alert, unbelievable price for an i7/16GB/WQHD, maybe the first time below $2000.

        @Soulsnake: Nice. So after 4.5% cashback it was $1718? I ended up getting yoga x1 i5/8gb/256gb/HD for $1300. I guess $400 cheaper is still a good price and I got a 2in1 laptop which I prefer. WQHD & processor are $400 option on the website. If the carbon has WWAN too, I'll be kicking myself on the balls.

        @AussieMark: I can't open the link, it asks me to login. Yes, gen 4 has been released in US for a bit. Apparently WWAN card can be added aftermarket (need the card and antenna). Parts wise it is like $300 though, quite expensive.
        
        Yoga gen 4 has aluminum finish I heard, but no retractable keyboard and no SD card. Also, somehow no more HDR screen.

        @rave75: This is a good price for yoga too but my usage need at least 16gb and 512gb to run VMs + fast micro sd reader to increase storage to 512gb or even 1tb in the future. I don't really need WWAN or 2in1 or touch screen.
        About 4.5% cashback, I realised this is actually on price before GST so it is $73.6 cashback on $1635. So final price is $1799 - $73.6 = $1725.4 but still a very good price for this machine with 3y warranty.
        
        Edit: The new x1 carbon does not seem to have an sd card reader only WWAN in option according to their website or am I wrong?

        @Soulsnake: Yeah, my only worry is the non-upgradeable RAM. My current laptop is okay with 8gb (big excel, heaps of chrome tab), but somehow I can't open as much chrome tabs on my 8gb desktop at home.

  They will have around the performance of an MX150 / GT1030, good enough for most light games. This is only for the highest end G7 versions though, opposed the G5 and G1 versions which less performance.
