          • @neil aus: I meant it more from the perspective of those who already take advantage of an ongoing discount on Netflix by purchasing 15% App Store gift cards that taking up this 'offer' will mean you'll lose your ongoing 15% discount.

  • Thanks OP! Great deal.

  • When I tried to activate a very old sim starter pack, I was told that they expire a year after purchase.

I didn't complain because I think that I had already used the sim and credit.

Anyone else, like me who stocks up on sim packs, find that they expire after a year?

    • +3

Voda Sim never expires. I just activated a SIM bought 6+ years ago. After activation, I have to swap SIM in Voda store because the old SIM was not 3 in 1 sizes.

      • Yes they do, it's not expired in literary terms but the number or activation code can be transferred or used on a future sim, something in their technical terms that I cannot recall. I had a 2 year old sim that got used that way and they had to escalate to get me a replacement one which I couldn't be bothered to chase up

    • some packs i think have an expirt date.
many older packs dont so umight fund they are no longer in the system.
i tried to rego an old sim with no expiry and customer service laughed at me.
couldnt b bothered with consumer affairs etc.
but u can try your luck…

  • +1

    I read somewhere (maybe Whirlpool)
the new Sims expire within 12 months.

-that said i had an old Voda sim that has manufacturers date sometime 2015
and activated it about a week ago ok.

    • Mine was from 2014, it was included with a phone purchase.

Also the activation key started with a V (I think), and the newer packs start with a U. This identified the pack as old.

I didn't complain because I probably had already used it.

    • So, from the $40 Netflix deal I have 3. One is from 2018 and does not have any expiry on it, the format and wording is different too. However on the 2019 ones, I can confirm it says on the pack that starter packs expire 365 days from purchase. So try and get a 2018 one if you can.

  • +1

The ad says must activate within 6 months.
Is that the Netfix card or just a governor from Woolworths to stop bulk buys?

    • yeh i saw that too

      would be interested to know

    • +2

      Netflix gift cards don't expire.

  • +3

Can i use woolsworth egift cards?

    • Want to know as well?

    • +3

      No.
I asked attendant to use last deal ($40sim with free netflix card) but declined by system.

    • +4

      You can't.

I just tried and system rejects it (and made the poor attendant walk over again :).

Could I buy today ($50) and claim price protection insurance tomorrow?

    • From who, a credit card provider? Would be too small to claim perhaps

      • +1

yes, from 28degrees. i think they do all sizes claims, not sure

    • Maybe, but why not just buy it at the cheaper price and save the hassle?

      • +1

that was yesterday mate, and for whatever reason they may have needed a SIM right then.

    • Did you end up trying it? I would imagine it would work. Don't think it's excluded in their policy. Would be a funny one lol

  • Is this country wide promotion?
I can not find on QLD catalogue.

    • +2

Not shown in the weekly catalogue, but in a separate Telco Catalogue.

      • +1

        Oh yes,I find it !
        Thank you very much.

      • Tasmania doesn't seem to have a telco catalog.

  • -1

Sorry I am still don’t know where to buy? Woolworths?
Can any one please give me the link? Thank you all

    • +3

Go to Woolworths shop and ask for link

    • @huoch: Oh dear, did you read the original Post. There is a link to the Catalog there!

      • +1

That link doesn't work for me. Goes to Woolworths but there's a blank space where the catalogue should be.

      • Thanks

Just be aware, if you have a US based Netflix account, these gift cards are useless. I found this out the hard way. Friends are reaping the rewards now. 😂

  • I can't find this on the NSW catalogue today! Is this this week or is this only in other states?

    • Seperate telco catalogue.

  • Just wasted 20 mins at my local where these scanned at $15. Anyone else have these scan differently?

    • What’s your post code ?

      • 3350

Clearly advertised as better than half price and $10 but scan at $15

        • just bought one at 7000. Even there is not telco catalogue, it also scanned at $15, with free 20 Netflix

          • @GAMBOL: It was $15 for me than I back to store show them the catalogue & receipt and they happy to give me back cash $5.

Any one please bring back to the store with receipt if you want to get $5 back.

    • Me too, clearly advertised in the catalogue for 10 but scanning at 15. I bought them anyway, it's still a good deal and..
I'm wondering if I can claim the item for free I've Woolworths mis-pricing policy.
Anyone know what this is ??
Or happen to know what my rights are ??

      • Later today, received a gift card as now scanning correctly at 10, pricing error early in the day has been rectified.

    • Yup, same for me. (2564). They are going to check with their IT department. They couldn't apply an override on the price, but they tried twice for me. Possibly a pricing error in the catalogue.

    • I tried two shops, one scanned at $15 while another scanned $10; both have the Netflix bonus card. Very frustrating indeed.

    • Got 3 at Crows Nest 2065 and it worked out to $30. What a fantastic deal :)

  • Sim Cards ended up being $15 each

    • Go back, get them to scan a new SIM as a trial. Then ask for a gift card for the 5 difference for each card.

  • Did it include the Netflix cards?

    • Yes, it's advertised at half price in the two page catalogue.

You also get the deal with a vodafone wifi modem.

On a side note to go with my red Vodafone and red nexflix cards,. I ended up buying selling some red Shin ramyum noodles and red beef jerky. The later both half price or almost half price.

      • Noodles, Jerky, Vodafone, Netflix - what more could you want? :)

  • $15 for sim and the $20 Netflix cards scan for free.

  • In my catalogue they’re advertised as better than half price. I’ll find out later what they scan up at when I do my shopping.

  • Yep scanned at $15. The checkout supervisor pointed to the small print at the bottom of the catalogue that says "Advertised savings may vary in some stores".

Between this and Ben & Jerry's, heads need to roll

    • Same no luck at Doncaster East Vic store

      • Also scanning through as $15 @ Westfield Doncaster store.

    • That print is fine, however it looks like there is no variance

      • +1

Actually I think the fine print refers to the amount you save rather than the actual price. So they should be honoring the $10.

        • My local Doncaster East store said they can't do an override on price as it's controlled by Vodafone. So no option.

          • @10101010101: Sounds like bullshit to me. This is a case of misadvertised price, which means they legally must give you the first for free, and then the rest scanned at advertised price.
The supervisors have full control over price overrides

            • @talismansa: Update: went back to Doncaster Westfield store 20mins later and it's fixed. Scanned through correctly. Limit of 3.

              • @10101010101: Scanned through 3 at Forest Hill 3131, no problems, at 13:18

Note: Only 2 or 3 of the $30 Vodafone sims left

    • "Advertised savings may vary in some stores".

This appears in all their catalogues. Also, they took that completely out of context.

Savings based on our regular metropolitan sell price. Advertised savings may vary in some stores, as some products may already be priced below the metropolitan sell price.

Regular metropolitan sell price for a Vodafone $30 Prepaid Starter Pack is $30.

      $10 ea <————- Advertised price
      SAVE $20 <——— Advertised saving

If the regular price for the Vodafone $30 Prepaid Starter Pack was say $25 at some store, then you would not get the advertised saving of $20 as you would only be saving $15 when paying the $10 advertised price.

I know that pricing for some foods vary slightly at some stores, but the regular price for a $30 starter pack is always $30 so this part of the terms doesn't even apply here. The regular price is literally printed on it.

i got it at chermside brisbane store she could not overide it,so i ask for a 15 ww gift card she said no worries win win, chermside market place store to be exact!! i did buy 3 of them too!!

    • negotiatinglikeaboss

  • Edit: woolworths have fixed the error, scan properly now at $10

  • I was able to do it in woden ACT. But they wouldn't do it in Tuggeranong.

    • Did it initially scan correctly in Woden or did you have to raise it with the supervisor?
Am wondering why you could do it in one local store and not the other.
I was in WW Dickson earlier and they only had the Vodaphone $30 starter pack advertised for $15 - no signage as per the Telco catalogue (which they didn't have in store)

      • Tuggeranong scanned at $15 and I asked the staff and they said they couldn't change the price. Woden it scanned at $10. I did see that their were two differnt $30 sims at woden so one might be priced at $15 and one at $10 I'll go back and check

    • Thanks Noctus
Was in Woden this arvo so went to Woolies and the Vodafone card and a Netflix card scanned for $10 total - all good. Will try my local (Dickson) tomorrow morning as it seems that WW have fixed it so that it's now working for all stores.
      Cheers
      MicMac

  • So if I scan the $15 Vodafone Sim, and scan a $20 Netflix card, this should scan $15 at the checkout?

    • It’s a $30 sim, and it should scan at $10. But yes, then scan the Netflix and it should show up as free.

  • FYI not available at Metro stores. My local is a metro and the bonus Netflix card was not available.

    • Yeah North Sydney wouldn't do it

    • Tried 2 metro stores and my experience was the same.

  • Seems to be working now in Vic. Both scanned for a total of $10

  • Scanned at $10, got Netflix card included. Bought 3 in one transaction.

  • +4

Looks like they have fixed the problem. Was scanning $15, but went back just then and it is now scanning $10. Bought 6 over two transactions… now to work out what to do with the SIM cards.

    • -4

If you or anyone else would like to please donate for free the sim cards, I would love them…. If ur in Melbourne

    • -1

Other than it being a waste, any reason not to chuck them?

      • +1

Because you could use them? If you can’t then I’d say chuck them on Gumtree for free, I’m sure some will want them. Or put on classifieds?

    • Did you use the same rewards card ?

      • +1

You don’t need a rewards card to purchase this deal. But I did scan my rewards card and then a relatives rewards card just to be on the safe side.

  • Thanks OP got 2 for friends visiting from overseas

  • Great deal, is the Netflix site a little flaky for anyone else? Trying to redeem some of my GC now.

    • +2

Are you getting an error when redeeming them? Or what's happening? If you try and redeem more than two in a 36-hour period it won't let you.

    • Yeah I did 2 and it wont allow a third :(

  • +6

Bought 6 in 2 transactions no problem at all. $120 Netflix credit for $60 is a good deal, wish I didn't have 6 Vodafone Sim cards now.

Any way to activate and transfer the credit to someone else?

    • Also bought 6 in 2 transactions. Great value, though like you said not much need for 6 Voda's. You can activate the Netflix cards and transfer, don't think Vodafone is possible though.

  • My local Woolies store sell for $15. They say they are not Supermarket but Metro store, they don't participate. There was no sign and the size is supermarket. Not sure how it works.

  • I just bought 3x Sim cards at Victoria Harbour for $10 each even though the ads in the shop said $15.

    • Ads are old. It was $15 last week, but no Netflix.

  • Thanks OP. Bought 1 from woolies Coburg and scanned in self serve without any issues.

  • Just purchased at Wheelers Hill. Definitely $10 each.

  • Can somebody clarify purchase method if buying x3. Does one Scan Vodafone then Netflix and repeat 3 times in one order
    OR
Can one scan 3 x Vodafone and then 3 by Netflix and it still works in one order?
In other words, does it matter the order of scanning (all one order)?
