Sorry, 365 days expiry applies for VF SIMs bought after November 2017.

      • Thanks manic. But the sims havr 365 day expiry, correct? So maybe only 1 year …

  • Warning: If you've picked up the $30 Vodafone Starter Pack (may be different to what was mentioned in the OP but the deal still works) then your sim gives you a $30 credit if you activate it and per minute call charges

  • +1

Bought 16 , on top of the usual benefits, gonaa suck nearly $500 with Hey you, uber eats and other new service promotion services1 😊

    • Can you tell me more? I am not clear on your ideas.

  • I need a voda sim card is it free to send like telstra?? i dont want any recharge yet

  • finally found few at Docklands Woolies. still quite a bunch left if anyone looking. says half price but scans 10 with 20 netflix card free

  • Just activated the Vodafone SIM card and I can confirm I received 35GB of data to use over 28 days. It does say on the Vodafone website that the offer (of an extra 25GB) ends 8th July 2019.

  • Seven hills woolie has a lot of stock but staff said they have issue to active Netflix Gift so can't sell it. Any other woolie has the same issue??
Feel like they don't want to sell it

  • “Looks like this account is not eligible for gift codes.” Could that be because it’s another 3 days or so before my iTunes subscription lapses?

    • Yes

      • +3

Thanks, worked once the iTunes subscription had officially ended.

  • Netflix has gotten a bit shit, but this is a good deal

  • $18/m for 4k, that's a bit rich.

    • +3

You'd rather go back to paying $90/month for foxtel? With ads.

Enjoy Netflix while it lasts. Soon you need six different services to get the same range.

    • I agree. It’s the same pricing strategy telcos, Apple and many others use: the base offering (SD in this case) to justify the ‘from $9.99/month’ is simply not attractive for 90% of users. I’m OK with the HD plan though as most Netflix at our place gets watched on non-4K screens.

    • +3

It's good if you are sharing with 4 people, it's not only for 4K, the 4 simultaneous screens is a great benefit.

  • On the woolies telco catalogue it says 6 month expiry but on the back of the voda sim pack it says activate within 365 days otherwise expires and netflix card says no expiry. Anyone able to clarify what the 6 month expiry is about?

  • Bought 6, thanks OP

No idea what I'm going to do with my pile of vodafone sims considering vodafone is pretty average at best im my area, but my netflix is covered for a long time now.

Guess it would be too hopeful to get $5 a pop on the s/h market for these starter sims nos that there are so many unused ones out there now haha.

    • $5ea is about right, after fees. At least you don't need to pay postage, or worry about missing items. List it as intangible - email the code.

      • email the code for a physical sim??

        • I wasn't following there either?

    • -1

      Haha, negative comment vote?
Thank you annonymous, I value your feedback.
Next time maybe comment on why you feel my comment warranted 1 of your valuable 5 votes for the day and I'll take it under advisement for next time?

  • Anyone know if we can pause the netflix subscription as we are going on holiday for a month?

    • can’t pause, but can let support know and depending on the rep you get they may give your credit back if you don’t use it for a month.

      • Cheers

    • A holiday without Netflix! That sounds like a proper holiday!

  • -1

How much is Netflix per month?

    • $14 for standard - HD and 2 simultaneous streams. (+/- $4 for SD or UHD)

      • $9.99 for standard, 1 stream at a time.

        • Cheers. Is there a minimum, or will 1 month (or in this case 1 Sim) get you up and running to try it out?

          • +1

@tunzafun001: Netflix is month to month — you can cancel anytime. If you've never tried it before one of these gift cards will get you at least 2 months because you'll get a 30 day free trial first.

  • +3

Bought 10. Now not sure what to do with the voda sims?

    • +2
    • Someone else mentioned (on a facebook bargain group) that they would use their SIM cards in their ipad over the next nine months or so since the ipad doesn't require a phone number they can just replace the old SIM with a new one each month without a problem. I personally gave all mine away to family and friends that said they could use one.

      • +4

If you have an old phone that's still functional, you could keep spare phone in the car (fully charged) with 1 of these spare sims (activated on 180 days plan).
Could be useful in car (or somewhere of your choice, to suit your needs) as a backup/emergency phone with functioning sim.
Another use would be if your limited on data on your main number, you could use a spare old phone as hotspot, for an extra 35gb while you're out :)
Could go gift the sims to homeless people or other persons or groups in need 👍 Gift them to a battered women's shelter, or homeless youth shelter(I'm sure either of those places would have people in desperate need, ppl whom turn up and have no credit on their phone but need to make calls) .

  • The Woolies I went to this morning had stickers up for both the $10 and $15 prices for the $30 SIM. It did scan at $10 though

  • Thanks OP bought 20, 5 per transaction. They had millions and millions of both starter packs and Netflix cards scattered all over the store so if you can't find them keep looking.

  • Oops. What can I do with my unusable $60 worth of netflix gift cards now that I paid $30 for but can't use on my Google Play linked netflix subscription?

    From Netflix Gift Cards

Can I redeem a Netflix Gift Card on my account if I pay through iTunes, Google Play, or another partner?

You cannot currently redeem a Netflix Gift Card on an account that is being billed through iTunes or Google Play or linked to a partner bundle or service package; you can redeem a Netflix Gift Card if you pay for Netflix through another partner.

If you currently pay through iTunes or Google Play but would like to use a Netflix Gift Card, you will need to cancel your Netflix account and restart it using your gift card.

If your account is currently linked to a partner bundle or service package, you can save the Gift Card to be used if/when your account is no longer linked to a partner bundle or service package, or you can apply it to a new or different Netflix account.

    • +1

you quoted the answer to your question

If you currently pay through iTunes or Google Play but would like to use a Netflix Gift Card, you will need to cancel your Netflix account and restart it using your gift card.

      • Unfortunately I would lose my grandfathered rate of $11.99 for HD subscription. The current rate is $13.99. How often do these 50% off sales come around?

        • +1

Interesting. I was on $11.99 via iTunes until they just sent an email that the new price was going to be $13.99 instead. No grandfathering nothing. Perhaps it was different on Android?

    • +1

      When your current account stops
Make a new account to use up your Netflix gift cards

  • +1

No $20 Netflix cards left at Sydney Town Hall.

    • +1

      Since yesterday evening!

    • They got some now but it's scanning for $30, I asked them and they said it's $30 if you want you can take else $10 offer is over now.

      • $15 tomorrow, same deal.

  • +2

For those that are changing from the VPN method to this with the Ultra or Standard Subs on the same account, make sure to select the cheapest option (Basic) when re-signing up to AU, then revert to Standard/Ultra! It'll save you $4-8!

This is only if you want to keep the same account :)

    • So, are the steps
      1) cancel vpn country Netflix at highest level,
      2) re-sign-up on Australian Netflix at basic level
      3) choose highest level of Netflix subscription
      4) save?

      • Yep that's it, it'll charge you at the cheaper rate when you renew, and won't charge you again to go up to the highest level until the next month :)

        • Do you have to wait until the current month expires? Or just press renew on Netflix Australia? I am unable to add any gift cards while the cancelled sub remains.

          • +1

@yojabbajabba: Yeah you need to cancel the current subscription, let it expire, and then re-sign up again in Aus :)

  • Thanks grabbed 10 from my local store

    • and your local store is?

  • Went back for more at Lake Haven and the vodafone Sims are scanning at $30

    • Yes same here at Prospect NSW

      • +1

Turns out it was only that store in my area. They tried everything but couldn't help me so I went to the next nearest store and it scanned through at sale price

  • Anyone else getting a Netflix "site error" when they try to redeem?

    • You can only redeem two gift cards per 24hrs

      • This is my first attempt. I'll try later like it suggests.

        • Yeah you get an error after two attempts per day.

  • +3

I now have $300 credit on my account. There doesn't seem to be a max limit.

    • Thanks, slowly getting mine added at 2 per day

    • +1

I was gonna ask wow what are you going to do with that many Sim cards then I noticed your name

  • +1

Discovered this deal just in time.

Bought 6 lots this morning and another 6 this afternoon. $120 total.

Both my local Woolies had heaps of Vodaphone and Netflix codes left. I don't think anyone really knew about the deal. The cashiers were surprised. This is in WA.

Amazing deal! Cheers to the OP 'headphonejack'.

    • My local WW had a $15 special tag on the $30 voda sims. No mention of the $10 deal at either WW I’ve been to. And it was only advertised in the telco catalogue. Never seen a physical copy of the catalogue.

  • I was at WW, I was buying the voda sim card with the free Netflix card they were saying the promotion was cancelled already. When they scanned it they were asking me to pay 2X Voda $30 + 2X Free $20 Netflix card for $60. I said it supposed to be $20 for the Voda sims and the Netflix card.

    • I purchased mine at 7:44pm tonight, scanned at $10 for both for me. North Lakes, QLD store.

    • +1

@AirJordan23 Same thing happened to me when trying to purchase tonight. I was asked to pay $60 and was then given a refund for $40. I just found in the telco catologue on the Woolworths site that orders had to be placed by 1.59pm today to get the special even though you couldn't order online. Very odd. I have a screenshot but I'm unsure how to post it.

      • +2

I didn't want to argue withe cashier it will be just a waste of energy. It will be onsale starting from today but at $15 with free Netflix again

  • I just got the last 6 from Bass Hill, still priced $60 total.

  • The sim scanned as $10 and $20 for the Netflix gift card. The manager charged me full price ($30) then manually issued a refund of $20. This was at Marden SA 5070

  • Just now, Bought 4 Vodafone prepaid SIM and got 4 bonus $20 netflix cards at Woolworths Double Bay. They still have so many cards.

  • Just got in before the end of the offer. Managed to snag 10 across two visits.

Slowly adding the credit to Netflix now. Any way around the 2 per day limit?

  • The Woolworths at carousel still scanned the Vodafone Sim cards at $30 and the Netflix cards at $20 with $20 discount. Still ended up with $30 so decided not to go ahead. Forgot to do the whole, let me talk to the manager thing. Oh well. Will look out for the next sale.

    • Next sale starts tomorrow;

Deal is much worse, only saving $5 on a $20 Netflix gift card

        • +1

Sure. But it's still a good deal. You get a free $20 Netflix card when you pay $15 for a $30 Vodafone Starter sim.

          • -3

@Ge3ks: Those Vodafone Sims aren't worth anything to me, I doubt I can even sell them for a few bucks without a hassle

  • Damn missed it! New Deal nowhere near as good

    • +1

      sorry :(

  • Has anyone tried to use these sims overseas without further recharging? Would the included $30 work for the odd phone call/data when overseas? Not interested in the roaming add-on, just the PAYG roaming rates ($1 per min/MB).

    • Hmmm off to Bali monday and have about 6 SIMs

      • +1

        won’t work overseas.

        • Cheers

          • @scottb721: They're nasty buggers, had a bit of a disappointment when I bought and tried to use in NZ which they . used to allow - no more! :(

            • @Zazer: What is different about the $30 included credit that it won’t work overseas? When you top up, you should be able to use it, right?

              • @bozbargain: It’s not a top up credit mate. It’s $30 credit to use on any Aussie plan, be it long life or whatever their monthly is or PAYG. Won’t work overseas, I’ve asked.

                • @Zazer: I know very little about prepaid, sorry. So you’re saying you can’t top up with eg $10 and then have $40 to use internationally?

  • Note: If you rip the pack open fully, before disposing of it, you may find there is a small, Vodaphone eject pin in there. Handy in case customs confiscates yours on a trip.

    • They're in all of them, and no need to rip it, it's right there.
