  • Just picked one at OW werribee ticketed price $49.50.also grab vodafone pocket wifi router e585 for $39.50.

    • OW Werribee & Elizabeth St sold out. Someone bought all 5 stock from Moorabbin HN (Ozbargainer??)

  • +4

If anyone want the unlock code for this device, I may able to help. Just email your device IMEI to this email [email protected]. Not 100% sure will find you the unlock code though but worth a try. Free Service. Limited to first 10 people only. :P

    • You are an absolute legend! Thanks for the code, it worked 100%!

    • Thanks for the code, very cool!

    • Okay. Limit reached. No more free unlock code via email at the moment. You may want to go to your nearest Telstra shop and ask for the free unlock code. Worth a try.

    • Thank you so much! Amazing stuff.

  • Glad to hear people have been able to buy them and price beat at Officeworks. Please don't forget to vote. Thanks everyone. :o)

  • I need some info guys. I am really not to good with technology as such. I currently have this product which is the Telstra Turbo 7.2 Pre-Paid Mobile Pro. Does the item on sale work exactly like this or is it something else?

  • If anyone is considering the vodafone $39.50 offer. Don't. They are clearing stock for their 850/2100 wifi modem. 850 is the same frequency as Telstra Next G for those who are not aware. However vodafones 850 network has a current limit of 7.2mbps while telstra have 42mbps

    • yes but by year end voda will have a 42mbps limit too. question is what speeds will the new voda modem support

  • mate of my reckons he went to local HN and they sold out but lady said she could give him the elite version which was $129 for the same $49.50 price, he picked up two.

    • you got the best deal mate. At Liverpool the sale person gave me the Elite model and at checkout the lady told me, its for 129 only and got me the MF30 model.
Elite (MF60) for 49 is a real deal.

  • I got my MF30 unlocked today free of cost from Westfield Liverpool Telstra shop. I took the box and the modem to the guy, which was quite nice and free at that moment. I told him, I bought this last week and the sales person at Harvey norman told me that I can get it unlocked for free, as it is an older version. I told him that I have read various forums that people get it unlocked for free.
He with no arguments took the IMEI no. from the box gave me the code on a paper.

    Steps after getting the code:
    1. Get the device switched on by putting another company's sim like optus or vodafone and connect to it wirelessly using the SSID and password given on the card in the box.
    2. Enter user id : admin and pwd: admin
    3. Add a new Profile for new SIM's APN.
For Vodafone it is : vfprepaymbb
and dial no. is *99# ( it the same for all)
save it and set it as default and you are good to go.

  • WARNING

To anyone (including those above in this thread) that think a Telstra post-paid SIM will just work without unlocking…. think again! I have personally tried this and it doesn't.

    • EDIT: Telstra gave me the wrong advice via phone on this.

You CAN use a post-paid Telstra SIM without unlocking, but you need to:
A> remove the PIN code on the SIM, or
B> Enter the PIN with the GUI (192.168…) within a web browser.

Telstra store just unlocked it free anyway.

  • Contacted 2 Telstra stores today. Telstra dont sell the mf30 anymore. Was told that they cant unlock them and I would need to contact the Telstra unlocking phone line and pay a fee. Telstra also trying to say that even unlocked the unit would not work with any other SIM as the software is locked to Telstra.
Anyone managed to get the Telstra 'unlockin' line to unlock for free?

    • Unlocking Line is in the Philippines. Charge is $100 no exceptions.

  • Hi can anyone tell me if my bigpond wirless 3g card will work in this??

  • Most places are sold out now = time to pricematch at dicksmith -> they have tonnes of stock.

    • DSE probably has the new model in stock and this is not abel to be price matched.

Let us know how it goes at DSE.

      • I personally had great success - they have lots of the old MF30.
