I bought one of these a few months ago last time a discounted rate was posted. I have not found one single baragain and its always a complicated process to even find them. Im sure that in principal there is the odd bargain or 10% off something thats allready pricy but in my opinion you are alot better just getting on the Wotif mailing list and waiting for a bargain to be emailed to you. I check back at their website every couple of weeks just in case something catches my fancy. Attention Ozbargainers. This is not a bargain its some smart marketers making cash for what we could otherwise find on the front page of Ozbargain. The worst bargain I have ever bought! Rant finished.

It's not that bad mate. I just bought it because of amazing discounts that some one may get.

You have full right to tell us about your opinion but I think for $19 it is worth it.

I am just a regular customer and shared the what I thought is a good deal. There is no need to create/start an argument trail.

I faced that problem initially but I will speak to their manager. And if the manager doesn't know it I ask them to call their head office to confirm. Works every time and now all shops around Melbourne city recognises this card except the odd new employee or two.

        • The first time when I tried to use the card, the staff said they do not recognise/participate in the programme. I then insisted and said they are listed on the website but the manager again said they don't and there was a long queue so I left. I then made a complaint to Aussie Travel Saver and printed the website screenshot and brought it with me the second time. The card was accepted after some discussion with the manager at the back, so I thought I will be able to use it 'easily' next time. I was wrong. The third time I went in after a month or so, I was told I can only use it once and they will not honour it next time.

I went in last month and the card was accepted without discussion going on at the back with the manager, but I am not sure what would happen next time.

  • Those type of membership should be free.

Strong Aussie dollar makes domestic travel expensive, I'm heading overseas.

  • Well I bought one originally to get a discount on a tour I was taking (cost of membership was worth the discount). Well actually the membership was discounted to about what this deal is now, to be upfront. The service is great with this company - I wanted to know if I could book the tour after buying the card because it takes time for the card to be activated to cover the time it takes to send it to you. A rep called up the tour company directly for me and asked if it was ok that I book with membership not officially activated. All done within a day of sending the enquiry.

Otherwise, when I took it to an attraction at Phillip Island in Victoria, the place did have trouble recognising the card. Hmm I haven't tried using it again after that though.

If anyone can classify this as a bargain thay may as well start charging access fees to Ozbargain…. This bargain should be banned form Ozbargain.
