  • Never been there.

    Worth going?

Is there anything other than sand and shops?

  • I don't think I'd touch this deal with a 10 foot pole. It's 2 almost 10 hour legs (one way) in one of the tightest economy configurations known without any food or amenities for a price that's still expensive.

If you really want to go to Dubai, you can go with one of the Chinese carriers for not much more. I don't think there is also a lot to do in Dubai, bar expo 2020 next year.

Is this the price to become an involuntary slave or to own an involuntary slave? Important detail.

Libya has a pretty good slave market if you're interested. Thank Hillary Clinton for spreading "democracy" there.

  • Checked a random flight
    To Dubai
    Depart 18:05 arrive 21:45
THE NEXT DAY! ie 34.5 hours later!
Which probably means a long transit somewhere!

Compare this to a 14 hour direct flight!

The return leg is worse (add 6 hours to your clock)
    Depart Dubai 23:25
Arrive Melbourne 2days later at 16:50!
    34.5 hours later

OP can I assume that this will be no frills? IE byo food and in flight entertainment? Will there be a charging port in every seat?

    • BYO seat.

      And seatbelt.

    • It's Cebu Pacific, it's a low cost carrier. Probably depends on the plane, but here's a sample review. It's no Emirates.

It's funny, my travels I always used to see a layover as a good thing - I'm usually like "woo, free stopover!". But I get that it doesn't suit everyone. My wife also would hate a 14 hour direct flight, she prefers to break say, a trip to Europe into stopovers in Japan, Dubai or Singapore (or better yet, two of the previous).

  • Yeah nah

True but to get the prices in your links for example
I'll have to fly on the 17th and return on the 22nd of the same month.

With the layover, I'll probably reach Dubai just in time to catch my return flight:)
