  • Have to get an electrician to install these right?

    • +5

      Legally yes.

      • Also please keep in mind that these are not up to the AU standards. Its dimensions on the back are different and does not fit in the hole. Otherwise very useful.

Nah mate. Have 20 rums and use an all metal screw driver. Give 'er a tounge test to make sure ya hooked it up ok. She'll be right!

I don't think you have TEER3X's best interests in mind.

      • +7

We're not talking about your mum bro

  • EDIT: Bad angle on photo

  • From what I have noticed this is the price every cpl of weeks.

  • +1

Seems like a good price as the hpm ones in bunnings are like $80!

Will these support fast charging? The ones at the airport don't annoyingly.

    • +1

I can see from the picture they are 1 amp, so no, they will support slow charging though

      • +1

Bad picture angle. From another picture it's clearly 2.1A each.

        • +1

Yep, my bad, 2.1A so should allow for decent charging speeds depending on your phone, my iPhone will happily use full 2.1 amps from my Tronsmart, not sure if those qualcomm chips need some special charging circuits or not though

      • +2

It's rated output doesn't guarantee fast charge. Depends on how the charge ports ate rated and the device you're charging. I've got a PSU that output 2.1A that charges my S2 tablet at 0.4A and my Asus and Oppo phones at 1.2A and 0.9A respectively.

I haven't read up on it but my understanding is, unless it's stated to be QC or something, you may not get your devices Max.

It's Amazon. If this product does not charge at 2-2.1A - return it for free.

        • +1

Most of the QC protocols actually manage it buy using higher voltage.

          Samsung chargers are commonly 5v/9v.

I personally just stick to the fastest 5v charger i can find, as i know for a fact that fast charging does age a battery.

You're charging a lipo at more than 1.5c

        • Funny enough, me writing that prompted my memory that I purchased a little USB M-F adapter designed to give my Samsung S2 phone (or maybe it was for the original TAB) what it wanted to see for maximum charge current. Haven't used it since that phone went out of service years ago.

Anyway, I'll be damned… I got the full 1.5A into my S2 tablet from the same charger! I'm stoked. Particularity because it's the only wall charger I have that is dual bottom entry and I use it behind my bedside table. With 0.4A, The tablet usually wasn't fully charged by the morning.

The adapter was purchased from a UK seller from whom I also bought charge cables and walk chargers. They always worked well.

most of the on sale wall socket brackets with USB ports don't have fast charge. the ones that do are always over $50! (sadly)

  • It appears the code already works, however a limit of 4 per customer

  • +1

    Thanks poster. I grabbed 4.

Pay electrician to install something that might be useless in 5 years' time or plug in whatever you want? Easy choice.

    • +1

The AC points will still be useful

    • +1

People buy gaming PCs for $3000-5000 which in 5 years not even worth $1000. Still their choice.

  • 2 for $20 at Costco.

  • Says currently unavailable now :(

    • Sorry, that sold out much faster than expected.

      • Costco bought it up? :)
