Very keen on the new in ear wireless WF-1000XM3 earphones that the reviews suggest are awesome. Pity I would need to spend another $100 to get this cashback.

    • Agreed, perfect timing

      • +1

Get 2 pairs and sell the second for just below retail?

    • So what is good and worth more than $100.01?

      • I'm struggling to find something to be honest. Pity I don't have a PS4 as games would be a good option

        • I’m thinking about buying two together with my friend. So $75 discount for each. Not that bad

    • I wonder if the Sony Kiosks in Westfield has them. Would like to test them in person

      • +3

Sony Chatswood will have them from tomorrow

      • So every Kiosk is eligible other than the Highpoint one listed?

        • +1

Got mine at a Kiosk. It triggered the deal.

    • Have they been released yet?

The sony website shows them being in stock but are they officially available? Or will they be posted later? I've read articles saying they're available in August.

      • Amazon US says they only ship out on 5 Aug. So I'm assuming the Australian Sony site jumped the gun? I've seen eBay sellers list them from Japan though.

      • +4

Sony Chatswood, NSW confirms they will have stock from tomorrow.

    • Also very keen on those as well. Trying to search Sony for something just over $100 I want but the site is down.

may take up to 90 days -_-

    • +7

That’s pretty bog standard disclaimer. I don’t believe I’ve ever waited more then a few business days.

  • Shame the prices on that Sony store are pretty horrendous. At least for gaming.

I guess the PS4 Pro is ok, due to lack of other deals on that console

    • We’ll see what Prime Days throw up.

But $410 for a pro isn’t too shabby.

    • They don't price match either. Chat with customer service once and they opened up a case for me and wouldn't do it

      • most of the times when I've bought camera gear from a kiosk they have price matched.

  • +1

Is it worth to buy first generation of RX100?
    $649 - $150 = $499

  • Thanks OP! Saved this one :D

  • +5

Keep in mind Sony will price match at their physical stores. It’s what I did with the last amex deal to get my 2 pairs of XM3 headphones.

    • +1

      Price match and -$150?

    • +1

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/cameras/Lenses/sony/sony-selp18105…

So I could get this for price match to $699 and then $150 refund on amex card +$50 visa card?

      • yes

      • Refund on visa card?
        How do you get that

        • The $50 visacard is a bonus from Sony for buying that lens. After you purchase it you claim it online and they will send you a $50 visacard. Details are on their website.

      • That lens has been cheaper than that before, even with the Amex deal

    • do you know if they normally match eBay sales?

  • Excludes the following locations: Sony Kiosk Highpoint and all Sony Centres, Sony Authorised Retailers, Camera Specialists and Service Centres.

    • Not sure what Sony Centres are. I can only find Sony Kiosks in Sydney

    • +5

Unfortunately you can only get the credit from the Company Owned Castle Hill, Parramatta and Chatswood kiosks or at sony.com.au
Buying from anywhere else will not get you the credit.

  • +6

Last time this offer happened with the $100 back, ShopBack did a 10% cash back at Sony. It could be worth saving this offer and then waiting to see if they do it again.

    • even better if you're a Sony X member and a sale comes round

  • I wonder if they will sneak in a $200/$50 offer like last time and stack. $500/$200 would be awesome, might just push me over the edge to switch from Canon.

    • It was strange that they did two concurrent ones.

  • Do the physical kiosks allow you to split payments?

    • +2

Yes you can split payment at Kiosks. Did it at Chatswood and Castle Hill

      • Do they do gift cards?

  • Any a6000 cheap

  • thanks OP got on both my amexs. I just need to figure out how to split bill a purchase now. Seems like something you can only do in-store. Perth has no brick and mortar Sony store though :(

    • Yeah bloody annoying. Nothing in Vic either. Reckon if you asked really nicely they would post from a kiosk? Sony A7iii calling my name, but would need to price match as well.

      • +1

you can do it over the phone with a kiosk store

        • Might give it a try when it comes back down to $2200’ish again.

        • From T&C: Excludes payments made via phone.
Not sure if calling a kiosk works differently.

    • Can you try and purchase over the phone with Sony?

  • +1

I'd like the WH-1000XM3 but funnily enough they are $150 more on sony.com.au than from JB Hi-Fi

Anyway to get them cheaper with this deal? If I go to the store will they price match?

    • yeah they will price match

  • Even better than the last deal of spend $600.

The last offer stacked with a separate offer for $50 back, so you could get $200 back.

  • I was tempted as well by the WF-1000XM3, active ANC sounds great - but if people can't hear me talk, I won't buy it anymore. This video scared me from dropping $399 on these earphones if they can't even get good microphone in headphones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL0OjijTGVw

    Speaking from experience:
Jabra Stealth + Vmoda Crossfade M100s -> Skullcandy Ink'd -> Bragi The Dash -> Jabra Elite 65e -> Samsung Galaxy Buds

Jabra Stealth was the best one for phone calls in the field. Fell out of my pocket at southland, and it was mono, but it had one job!

Plus no volume controls, is an automatic fail.

    • +1

This review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4mLW6x17VM) contradicts that one. He gives you a recording of what other people hear when speaking to him over the phone and it's quite audible. No one complained about being unable to hear him.

The Chinese guy in your video is doing his own recording instead of the person on the other end doing the recording through a phone call. A difference in how it's recorded changes the way it sounds. Or he had dodgy buds.

I have seen several reviews now and all were glowing. No one mentioned being unhearable in a call.

  • I'm semi-considering buying two of the WF-1000XM3 and sharing the $150 statement credit with other buyer …

    • +1

it will be cheaper somewhere else. You'd only save $75 off of full price. An ebay 20% off deal will save you $80 off of RRP. If they list it below RRP, even better.

    • They're currently $395 on the Sony website now.. I'm also looking for someone to share with so it'll be $320 a pair. Let me know

  • Picked up a WF-1000XM3 from Sony Chatswood this afternoon, also bought something else to make up $500. Already received the confirmation email from Amex for $150 credit. Perfect timing.

    • +3

Any first impressions of the buds? Very interested to hear some real life feedback rather than biased YouTube reviews.

      • +1

Yep will be interested in sound quality esp bass area :) Thanks

        • +1

Received mine today. These things are amazing. ANC isnt quite on par with the WH1000XM3 but if you get the right seal (various bud sizes included) and you're playing some music/media its damn good at cutting out ambient noise.

I'm coming from a pair of Creative Outlier Golds (with Aptx) which sounded good but these are on another level. If you get a good seal the bass is unbelievably good for a pair of TW buds.

I loved the quick attention mode on the WH1000XM3 and used it regularly but i like this even more. I always felt like a massive tool cupping one earcup to talk to people and would often get strange looks. Now you just need to put one finger over your ear in these situations…. so now I'm sure I'll only feel like a bit of a tool while I secretly moonlight as kevin costner out of the bodyguard.

I'm not a huge music buff but watch alot of media and can confirm no noticable lag with netflix or youtube. If you're looking for a solid pair of TW buds these are it!

          • @Eggsperential: do other people hear you clearly in a call?

          • @Eggsperential: There is a review saying the in-ear comfortability is a bit off, what is your experience? And on the ANC, compared to WH1000xm3 with the same level of ambient noise, what's %, 80% 90%,or lower?

            • @Maxxjet: Yeah I'd heard that too but I find them really comfy particularly coming from the creatives which sat much further in the ear canal - But its probably going to be quite different from person to person. In terms of ANC I reckon the WFs are about 60%-70% as effective as the WHs but it's really quite impressive for their size. The single tap on the left ear bud cycles through NC, ambient noise and ambient noise off which is really convenient.

  • Does it work for supplementary cards? Or only one per account?

    • Yes, as long as you register said supplementary cards for the offer

  • Apparently VideoPro had the RX100 IV for under $700 couple of weeks ago, and the M3 hit about $570. Anyone know where to get a good deal on either of these Sony cameras at the moment?

Even if I use this voucher, it seems awfully expensive.

  • I apologise if it was stated before, but I just wanted to check if Sony guarantees the cash back if we use the offer through Shopback. Some terms and conditions made me doubt myself before using it. Cheers

  • Can I use this at the Sony Australia eBay store? (There is 20% off there too).

    • +1

      No; it's third-party

  • Anyone else hoping to use this in the hope that over-ear XM4s come out by September deadline?

  • Have the amex offer saved in 2 cards. But cant figure out what to buy along with these WF earbuds. Any suggestions /

  • FYI for anyone still watching and having enough cards, Sony Kiosks (and maybe stores?) are matching the JB Hifi "ex-demo" prices on 2018 model TVs, either with ex display models of their own, or in my case, a brand new unit. i.e. I managed to pick up my 65" A8F OLED brand new for $2,888 by matching the JB price, using 5 cards to knock $750 off (add something to take it over $3k and get that thing virtually "free")

Probably not a lot of stock left, hence you'll have to suss out what's left at your local (both JB for price matching, and stock at Sony) so not posting as a separate deal.

But you could potentially get the 55" A8F for ~$14xx or 65" for ~$21xx, which is well below the best price ever for OLED across any of the major brands.

  • Does anyone know or can confirm if the Cashback applies on the EPP Website?

  • Just was told today they don't do split payments as off a week ago….

    • At the kiosk?

    • Yeah, I heard the same last night. Apparently, because fees.

      • Well… looks like a Canon it is then
