Great power supplies! I've got the 850w and even under heavy 4K encoding fan doesn't even spin. Sometimes I think it's not working lol. 750w is basically identical in efficiency. Only issue is the older model has exactly the same name. So make sure it has the smaller dimensions compared to the other. As on the Amazon description it only has packaged dimensions… These are the dimensions for the newer model:
    150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H) x 160 mm (L)
    Older model has 180mm (L).
I know PC Case Gear used to try sell off the older model as the newer one a while back.

You can tell by the part number. The part numbers for the old versions are listed here: https://www.corsair.com/corsairmedia/sys_master/productconte… . The part number for the old 2015 version of 750X is CP-9020092, whereas this one on Amazon has part number CP-9020179, so going by that, it's the newer 2018 version.

You can also tell by the Corsair logo on the power supply - the newer versions have the sails above "Corsair", while the older versions have the sails to the left of "Corsair". So Amazon's pictures are actually of the 2015 version, but it has the part number of the 2018 version.

I have a 10+ year old Corsair 620w which hasn’t missed a beat. I’m tempted to upgrade to this just for the warranty and a bit more head room. Should I?

  • Well this couldn't have come at a better time. 750w for the price of a 550w that's a steal. Always better to have more power then be under. Thanks for the post.

Guessing it was one store had that pricing and they're now out of stock? OP didn't mention it was a lightning deal?

      • :((((((((

        • :( yeah i believe its sold out now

    • Its sold out, definitely a prime day special. Managed to get one even though mine is working perfectly.

  • How quiet are these bad bois?

    • It's about as quiet as it gets. Fan barely turns on. Probably count on one hand the amount of times I've seen it spinning for the last 3 months. I've abused the CPU aswell!

  • vipul: Thank you for the details
I have checked with the details and i see that the item is available with the sellers might be deal was closed. Not to worry, As the prime is more 36 hours, the deal will be available at any time

  • Gutted I missed this. Have the RM750i in my previous build, I can't remember ever hearing the fan turn on. That was while running an 8700k + 1080. Needed this for my new build :(
